Well it would be good start to learn a lot of songs from two bands and sit down and analyze the styles of their guitar players to try to figure out what is the main thing that makes their style unique and recognizable. And than incorporating their "knowledge" into your own playing..But I would not suggest doing any of this..If you are a fan of two bands and know how to play some songs you will definitely be influenced by them any way, and main thing is to be unique and original so you should not make efforts to mix others styles etc in order for you to be unique..You are already unique and have your own style and as you develop your skills you will only enhance what you already got..

Try to learn and analyze their songs, and get the sound their after on their albums. This way you will pick up their styles and fuse them into something new. But as everyone said - don't expect to be a one week project. You'll have to work hard to make a new style like that, it's a big work and time consuming

I agree with Daniel, there has to be a analysis from "within" also. WOrk on your self in order to find out what you play like right now, and use ti too in creating a style.

I am also with Daniel, try to find out what those bands are doing, what attracts you about them and what you would like to have in your own style. But be aware of the fatc that creating your own style is not as easy as it might sound like, you will have to work on this and really shape your style, not just copy your fave bands.
