"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

I just listened to some of it. Good work, BM, but there are a few things that could need some work. It is not as clean as I think it could be on the guitar part, but you do seem to play it with a certain confidence, which is good! But just break it down and clean it up at slow speed, it would be much better then! Also, it would be nice to hear with backing track. I'm sure you could find the drums out there somewhere, and this will also help you a bit on the timing, which I thought wasn't spot on at all times. The vocals were pretty decent, I think.

Thank you :-)

It was hard to try the vocals seeing how high he sings tongue.gif I recorded the track by playing the rythm along with the real song (I had heapdphones on). Then I duplicated the rythm track so it could sound fuller. But I completely agree, it could sound cleaner.

If you enjoy metal, return to that same page and check out our music player again. My band (Megido) has put up our first official demo and I have to say, if you like Old School Thrash, you should love it!

Cheers

Connor

Sorry it must be a bad link.

Here, I will give you the MP3 download (don't worry there's no virus or anything lol)

Also here is my best original song. It is called Carnivale. This is just a demo so please excuse the vocals (although they so sound Mustaine-ish). I think you will like that it has fast thrash riffs, heavy bridge, heavy and innovative chorus (includes a spider chord smile.gif ) and the solos are decent I think for improv.

Attached File  Carnivale_Demo.mp3 ( 3.66MB ) Number of downloads: 267

Attached File  Welcome_Home_Cover.mp3 ( 5.71MB ) Number of downloads: 295

Hope you like the covers. Let me know what you think.

Connor

Finally a great sound! smile.gif

Your guitar really sounds cool!

As for the rest of the songs, the same thing applies as in my previous mail.

Your voice is sooo Dave's that it if someone's not familiar with Megadeth, he could say that this could be an early demo of the band:)

Just keep up the good work, next time I'm expecting a song with drums and bass as well biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Cheers!

Thank you Zsolt smile.gif

I promise there will be drums and bass next time. Just wondering, what did you think about the riffs?

That is my most intricate song, especially the intro. Very fast.

So what was your favorite part of it?

Thanks

Connor

What I'd do is I'd make a small change in the intro riff. It goes twice, and I'd change the last note in both parts so it would not be the same as the very first note you begin the riff with. I guess this would lead to the small change of the following riff, but that's up to you.

The speed part is very thrashy smile.gif I like that very much! After this you play a riff that reminds me of Tankard, a german thrash band.

I like the verse riff a lot. I also like the slow part before the solo, but it's absolutely Dave-ish biggrin.gif

What I'd suggest is to try and make a more craggy chorus that is more singable, eather a more melodic one or that is really heavy. This depends on what you want to express with your music.

Cheers!
