Hey GMC!

Here is one topic I really want to work on in the coming year.

Soloing and breaking out of playing on the beat all time specifically. Building a little speed and being able to play some more interesting runs.

I'm not worried about becoming a super shredder or anything.

I feel a I have a decent ear and understanding of note choice and feel. Of course it can always get better. But I'd say I have a decent grasp there.

Its the dexterity to play something more "fiery" at times.

I recorded this yesterday. I'm working on getting the minor scale shapes down. I made this backing in Gmin and recorded the lead over it using the Gmin scale from the 12th to 18th fret as well as open to the 7th. The first to "boxes" if you will...

I just cant get out of playing right to the beat. And after about 4 bars it gets BORING...

Which GMC lessons would you recommend or what tips do you have?

Here is my track - www.jershangout.com/files/music/Jer-Gmin-2.wav

Here is a sample of the kind of thing I'd like to be doing - go to the 1:36 mark or so.
