I've heard Tosin Abasi using something called "SWYBRYD PICKING", but some guys say that this guitarist is the first one who talked about it.

Have you ever tried it?

Around 2:41 he starts doing what I call (in my lessons) a "Tripeggio" sort of a triplet Arpeggio. It sounds sorta arpy but is much easier to pull off. I typically have folks just use the pick and a hammer on pull off. But one could use a finger to pluck as well if that works better smile.gif

Here is one of the lessons where I use it in quick licks. Using it on wound strings though.

Cool! I guess you could also describe it as economy picking + hybrid picking

Indeed! smile.gif In my vid, I'm using two down strokes for the first two notes and then a hammer/pull for the next two, so only two strikes for four notes. My "Tripeggio" licks are all about maximizing output while minimizing effort. Along the lines of what the guy is doing in his vid.

Nice name in fact. I use lot's of hybrid and this wasy the picking patterns change for more economic motion. As a final result it looks similar and gives similar effect. But besides this that's why I love guitar - I feel i'm discovering it all new year by year. Never get's borring smile.gif
