Let's start with reviewing your actual routine!

Cosmin

Hi Cosmin! how are you? I made a routine last week, and I will show you now.
My problem is that I think I want to practice too many things at the same time.....

This is my routine:

First my principal "short time" objectives:

-Get a better technique (I think my technique is very poor): alternate picking, sweep, tapping and legato
-Make me to myself a very good rythm guitar
-Learn to compose riffs (your lessons in this area are VERY VERY inspirationals, you rock!!) and songs for my band
-Musical theory and ear developing.
-Composing solos.
-make me a great acoustic player (fingerstyle ruless)
-Repertoire

-Time that I have:
- 2 or 3 days about 4 hours of practice
- the other days : 2 hours 30 minutes

And this is my routine:

Long days ( 4 hours more or less):

51 min technique (sweep or alternate)
30 min Tapping or legato
25 mi Musical theory
25 min rythm guitar (riffs, chords, styles, etc)
30 min composing songs
25 min repertoire
25 min acoustic guitar

Short days ( 2 hours and a half)

15 min tapping/legato
30 min technique (alternate or sweep)
25 min solo analysis
30 min repertoire
30 min acoustic
(more or less)

and well I have a lot of "existencial questions" : how can I practice/learn to compose riffs/songs?
How can I study theory?with guitar or without guitar?
How often I have to change the exercises of the routine?
and the last:How many days I have to practice a lick?(I have a lot of problems to remember licks!!)

Million of thanks for your help and for your time, It's very appreciated for me.THANKS A LOT MASTER!!

Hey Cosmin,How are u?? I have no words, you're a master!! I downloaded your video las wednesday from youtube, and I studied slowly every day, ( My English level is a """""little bit""" bad, lol) Tomorrow I'm going to begin with your chords exercise, and perhaps I will add to my routine a section called "Riffs" to practice some riffs and learn throuth them (as you said!)

I know that you like southern rock-metal,and my band like too,and I like a lot your riffs exercises, I have a pair of them in my bookmarks!! The only problem is that my band tunning is in E (nobody's perfect, lol) Thank you very much.Ah, I read few days ago an article that you wrote about practice routines ( I knewn this article a few time ago but I don't use it) and I'm trying to adapth my time to your routine!

And about recording, I would like to recording me in video....what software and cammera do you recommend??

A salute from your spanish disciple!!!!And thank you very much for the video, IT's very very usefull for me!!!

Hello Vince!! biggrin.gif I am very happy if I managed to help out man smile.gif Listen, there are two options regarding recording video:

- either you record video and audio in the same time - video, by using a web cam or video cam and audio - in your digital audio workstation (the software that you use to record audio in)
- either simply with a video cam that also captures sound smile.gif

Which one of these is the easiest at first? Let's go for that one and hear you perform! biggrin.gif
