Well I'm curious how you can achieve a somewhat similar tone at the house without cranking up a 100 watt tube amp? smile.gif

Would you recommend a small, (5watt-15watt), all tube powered amp and an overdrive pedal,(ibanez ts-808), that would just get you in the ballpark?

What do you think would be a good way for home use at moderate levels?

My friends dad uses this, and he has a pretty wicked variety of Blues Tones, i think this runnning through any amp you could get a great SRV Tone wink.gif

A lot of his tone came from his technique, he had a realllllly heavy left hand and he played a really high guage set of strings, I believe 13's.

His #1 Stratocaster might help too =)

You need an overwounded single pickups, .11 strings in D# tuning, SRV style left and right hand technique, and some bluesy amp like a vintage fender - this will get you close enough.
