The Hottest Day, how to CHILL OUT?

I should today prepare myself for Real METAL MELTDOWN cos the weather forecast says it will be 40 C Celsius in my city, or the Hottest day this summer!!! (in some places will be 42 C) It;s now 11.30 am and thermometer says it's 35 c in shadow How to fight against this? If you have a bath, fill it with cold water ( or beer ) and whenever you feel like use it as a pool to cool off, a cold shower will also help.
