Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Dave Murray Style by Ben Higgins

Hi there ! Here is my take for the Dave Murray style, by Ben Higgins. In this same video I've done the Adrian smith style, so I'm going to create another "rec take post" smile.gif
Thanks for taking the time to watch this.

EDIT: I've noticed that I can't post the same video twice... so if you can also review the adrian smith style, it would be nice wink.gif

Hi mate, nice playing! You have a really good energy on the video. I'll talk about the Adrian Smith video. I think that you played the lesson very good and there are some little details to fix to play this one perfect. The part at 00:48 could sound tighter but the most notable thing is that the vibrato played on the first note of the phrase (and every time you repeat it) from 00:51 to 00:59, makes the note sound a bit our of tune. Your vibrato is bending the string and making it sound out of tune. Besides that, the overall is very good. Congrats!

Hey mate! I will also discuss the Adrian Smith style lesson, as I am waiting for you to post a separate take for the Dave Murray biggrin.gif

Now, that energy you showed, made me forget about that rushed vibrato! Very good take and if you also take care of that detail, you will be flawless!

Anyway, the energy is the most important and I think you managed to make me receive the message through your playing - that matters more than anything!

Congratulations!

Cosmin

Very good job! I think that the main issues in both takes are both vibrato and bends. Vibarto is a bit too agressive and (like Gab said) it's a bit unregullar as it goes for pitch control. As for the bends - many of those are really good and are far from being sloppy, but to make them close overall level of Your playing, You should give them a bit more attention. Anyway...well done! smile.gif

I was thinking that it was sounding really tight and tuneful and then the first solo hit me !

Talk about a surprise.. wow man, you have tons of energy and attitude on the guitar ! ohmy.gif

Your tone is great as well.. the picking lines were perfect.

I think your fast, aggressive vibrato works great but maybe you should add some variety by not using all the time, every time. That way, when your fast vibrato does hit, it will have even more impact. smile.gif

I'm very impressed and I look forward to seeing more of your takes - great work !!
