Has anyone used one of these before? And if so are they any good...... my younger brother has bought one today and he cannot use it, so has gone back to his Line 6 Pod 2.0 and he says I can have the V-Amp, from what I hear it is very similar to a Pod XT and can deliver some great sounds!! But before I take it off him I would like to know what you all think, if any of you have experience with it......

Thanks,
Iain!!

The cleaner tones from it sounds pretty good, the distortion is as always from cheap multiFX's pretty "naah" imo, works ok for personal use tho!

Yes I would say this is one of the amp simulators that gives most "bang for bucs". I have had it - and managed to tweak in cool clean, metal and solo sounds. Be careful though as the unit is physically very fragile.

Its not really to replace my pod, I gig quite a lot so normally the pod is packed up with my combo and guitars in the van or at the practice room, its a pain to keep bringing back and forth.......so my idea was to keep the pod xt live at the practice room or in the van and use that for playing live, and then keep the V-Amp 2 at home to give me a little better sound while practicing and to hook up to the laptop if it can be done!! It was just to stop carting the Pod all over the place between practicing and home practice and gigs!! The only other one I looked at for a similar price is a Pandora from Korg, they do a PX4 and PX5 or something which looked pretty decent also, just the V-Amp was coming from my brother so the price was great...... FREE!!! I just didnt want to put him out of pocket if I wasnt going to use it, he could have returned it but i will just take it from him for my practice smile.gif

I had both but stayed on XT! Vamp cannot be compared to XT... XT is much better but also more expensive but Vamp is useful too, for practice and some home recording its cool and u can get cool sounds from it ofc...

I have a vamp 2, and tried in the past the podxt...i prefer the vamp2, no doubt. The pro of the pod is a better construction, the vamp2 is poor plastic, but you don't have to play soccer with this little funny blue fx... so I vote for the vamp2!

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I got the thing this morning from my brother and I agree the build quality isnt great, but like Danillo said I wont be playing soccer with it, its sitting on the top of the amp but the tone's are pretty great, everything I need right there in the little blue box.......now I don't have to lug my Pod XT Live around everywhere....

Iain!
