So, Google has finally done what I've only known was a matter of time until they did tongue.gif
No, they didn't buy Microsoft, that's next on their agenda. But they made a webbrowser. I've been using it for some hours just to test it out, and I have to say it's working great. It's fast, it has a huge browserwindow and it's clean and simple. The only thing I'm complainting about is that the spellcheck thingie I don't really need kicks in when I write posts like this. And since I'm not native english, red lines are everywhere. And I have to start the browser all over again every time I want to change it.

Here's a screenshot of the browser
More info and download link here

Anyone else have experience with Chrome? I'll problaby go back to Firefox, but it's fun to try new stuff ^^

I have to edit myself a little: The browser is not just fast.. It's insanely fast tongue.gif

Open code can only mean they don't hide nasty stuff inside, might be interesting.

Ive tried it a bit, and I've only enjoyed it so far, the only thing I miss from firefox is that little window to google in, because my screen is a bit damaged, so I have to copy words to there so I can read things properly (stripes all over the screen..), and that's the only thing I miss. I'll probably survive without it though, and it's sooo fast, it's incredible.

Last night I spent 3 hours reading and watching features about Chrome. It looked so impresive so I had to try it. It's been 10 hours of testing and I can only say Google rocks!!! IE will probably dissapear in a year and that's exactly what the team from Redmond deserves. I had enough of Microsoft and their bad systems.

The EULA has some curiosities, http://tapthehive.com/discuss/This_Post_No...le_s_EULA_Sucks
The same conditions got attention in other software recently.

Of course they own the rights to everything you post using their browser and they will by keeping checks on everyone also. We are all being watched. Chuck Schuldiner when he wrote these lyrics in the 90's couldn't have been closer to the truth.

1,000 Eyes

Crossing the line into the other side
Emerging as prisoners
To the emptiness of time

To the left and to the right
From behind - they're out of sight
Plunging into a new found
Age of advanced observeillance
A worldwide, foolproof cage

Privacy and intimacy as we know it
Will be a memory
Among many to be passed down
To those who never knew

Living in the pupil of 1,000 eyes

Was it overlooked in front of all our faces?
Now, all the mistakes and secrets
Cannot be erased

Viewing the blind complexity
By which laws were justified
To erase simplicity

To the left and to the right
From behind - they're out of sight
Plunging into a new found
Age of advanced observeillance
A worldwide, foolproof cage

Privacy and intimacy as we know it
Will be a memory
Among many to be passed down
To those who never knew

Living in the pupil of 1,000 Eyes

We are enslaved now...

Chrome should just be used for hobby purposes then.. If a person should make some lyrics, as we have many of those here on GMC, and posts them.. Google get's permission to grab them and run?

That looks like a move to the dark side on their part. I guess all major companies eventually turn Sith.
