MERTAY: I hope you are not caught in this? We are seeing global flooding far worse than expected this year. The moon is doing a "wobble" which is evidently going to make it worse and climate scientists are saying this kind of thing might become common place. I sure hope not

and also in india

more about the epic flood in china.

The flooding has been crazy lately. What is it now? Germany, Belgium, London, Turkey, China...

Thanks for the concern! smile.gif

I'm on the west side of Turkey (near Greece), no floods or even rain here but it might be the hottest summer I've ever experienced. The north part of Turkey is always rainy but I don't remember such flooding in summer, very odd.

;Climate scientists are worried that we are heading for a very bad state of affairs. This type of thing may become common and start happening more frequently. EDIT

I certainly hope not though.

Edit:
The moons natural WOBBLE is going to make flooding worse in the next decade.

;Climate scientists are worried that we are heading for a very bad state of affairs. This type of thing may become common and start happening more frequently. We are at an "inflection point" where its' getting very important that we make some changes before we cross the tipping point. These drastic changes in our global weather are starting to have very bad effects, floods, wild fires, storms far worse than we should be seeing. Big summit coming up about this. The UN says we are approaching our "last chance" to make some changes.

come on Todd , you were one who voted against getting political

Of course it's political. There's no question that politics have tainted the science in this and other areas. You are going a bit further than simply discussing flooding in your comments, as usual. We all get the news, thanks.

Im glad it's not hitting you smile.gif I saw some bits about this on the news but they didn't mention TURKEY or INDIA. I found out about that when I went on youtube. I did see the stuff about China which looked crazy. All of this happening at the same time is very concerning. I just hope we don't get a repeat of it next year ya know?

Not a debate for here certainly. I was honestly just sharing some info that I found disturbing. The news didn't mention most of it. Only Europe/China. Let's just try to be courteous and respectful of each other? Surely that's not too much to ask? Ill avoid any further posting about anything climate related in the interests of peace smile.gif

Sorry Todd but I don't believe that you were just sharing info, I don't see how I was being disrespectful and these events were indeed mentioned by a few different popular news outlets. Being concerned about flooding and the well being of other GMC members is one thing, but when you start in about climate scientists, dire predictions and UN summits, you enter territory that is most likely to turn into a heated and divisive argument and I believe you are well aware of that. So please, don't play dumb because we all know that you are a smart guy. We voted to refrain from these kinds of divisive arguments, yourself included as jstcrsn pointed out but it seems to have become a reoccurring theme with you to try and bring these arguments back even though we have discussed them before and seen where they lead. You did it in your other flooding thread and before that you did it in a thread about a mass shooting knowing full well where the topic would go, and you have done it before that as well. After we voted to discontinue these toxic and divisive topics, it was peaceful for a while until you started to try to bring them back. It would be nice to keep GMC a place where we can get away from the political discourse so please, let's keep it on Facebook can we? Thanks🙂

I just asked if we could all be courteous and respectful thats all smile.gif I was just sharing some bits that I found truly shocking and that weren't getting covered on the news including the flooding in turkey. However, as I said, in the interests of peace I'm never going to share any climate related info ever again. It's just not worth the drama it seems to create. My bad for bringing this up again. I do apologize for doing so and I don't plan on doing it again. smile.gif
