Hey there!

Gabriel just asked me this and I realise I forgot to tell everyone about it:

If you want to use a compostion that is more than 70 years old (that is 70 years after the composer's death), you are free to do so! However, the arrangement has to be your own.

Hopefully this can inspire to some new cool topics? smile.gif

Just for clarification: a composition is protected by copyright for the author/composer's life and 70 years after the author’s/composer's death. If you want to use a composition, but are not sure if it is old enough, please ask me and I will find out! smile.gif

I would say it is ok to use it. He died 1909, right?

I could not find when Yuquihiro Yocoh died (he may be still alive), but he was born in 1925.
So, I guess his arrangements should not be introduced here.
Maybe allowed if it is your own arrangements "In the style of...".

Hi Vinod

Kosei is right, this song is still protected by copyright. And it is not possible to do your own variation without permission from the copyright holder.

Sorry, but we can't have a lesson on this song. However, you can always do an In the Style of -lesson. But these lessons cannot be based on a copyright protected song, they may just reflect the general style of a band or artist.
