GMC Forum _ Introduce Yourself ! _ Finnaly. A New Home. A New World

Posted by: demonmyst Jan 2 2008, 03:20 PM

I've been playing guitar by myself self taught [very little from friends, learned finger picking a few exercises, how to pinch harmonic and a sweep tip] for 4 years. I've never learned full songs, besides my bands music and I finally found a place that will help a great amount. I was thinking about getting lessons at the local Seminole music, but I wasn't sure how they'd start teaching me. I believe I'm on an intermediate level of guitar, so it wasn't really the place to go for a couple of scales for $20 a week. This place is so much cheaper, and tons of videos I wouldn't of even though of asked for getting guitar lessons. This is a more self motivated approach at getting better, but this is DEFINITELY the place to go.

I'm so glad to be here.. This is a start of a new era for me. This is the place where I will be getting better.

Well, now that I got that dramatic stuff out of the way. Hello! My name is Corey. I play a Jackson, with what model I'm not really sure because I've never been able to find a name ,serial or even an exact look-a-like of the guitar... so maybe I'll figure that out here?

I usually play metal, but acoustic is my second love. I want to get more in depth with certain styles and learn more scales and a few more techniques to advance my abilities. Learning some blues and other genres of guitar will also be something I look forward to doing since that's a little harder to pick up[ in my opinion.]

Another really weird part of me, is that I'm not a big music listener. I'm pretty sure that'd help me get better so recommendations on bands I should listen to eventually will be awesome. I listen to some of those really good guitar artist and a select few bands, but it's not very much at all to increase my guitar knowledge.

Hope this place is as great as I feel it's going to be & I hope these forums are very friendly! They seem like it!

Oh, and VERY cheap! biggrin.gif

Not really sure if this is very organized since I've been up allnight, but I hope to meet some very interesting people, and may I say, my favorite instructor already is Muris biggrin.gif
