GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Audio Interface

Hi Everyone!

So I'm selling my POD X3 since it wasn't right for me. I want to get a good external audio card/ interface in order to use Guitar Rig 3. I have heard the M-Audio Fast Track Pro is good for that kind of stuff? What do you guys think about it? I have a Tascam US-144 but it doesn't work well for me, when I use GR3 you can still hear my dry signal coming out of the monitors and its very noticeable . And when I play MIDI files or open Guitar Pro 5 files you can't hear them because it does not do MIDI well at all. So anyone who has a Fast Track pro or knows a good audio interface that does GR3 and MIDI well please help me rolleyes.gif

Thanks,
Eric

Every interface can do it. Guitar Pro will never sound good if you don't load some good samples. I am not sure whether Guitar Pro supports that at all. No good sound card has midi sounds integrated. You need to load them from somewhere. About Guitar Rig you shouldn't have problem. If you hear your dry guitar you can easily turn that volume off in your audio card mixer (driver) but still get the recording signal and monitoring in your DAW. I use EMU 0404 and it works good. There are better models and they can all do a good job. I recommend EMU because I have it and can guarantee the quality.

I also use EMU and can garantee about low latency (infact almost no ASIO latency) on it. Emir is right, if you take the EMU, you will get a quality product, period.

M-Audio Fast Track Pro is also a good device, but I'm not sure how big is the ASIO latency. It is not too big I believe, so you can use GR3 with it no problem. In fact, more issue will be your CPU - if you have a good CPU, GR3 will run smooth, since it relies on CPU for the calculations.
