Ok, so we have our 10 participants and i can't wait to see the final result 
Here they are and you can also see who already posted his solo:

So, the task is simple: take the backing track and record your solo over it. I will need your solo WITH and WITHOUT the backing track so be sure to upload both files. Backing track can be found here: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=9997
I think 2 weeks are enough to finish the work and i will add a few days so i think the deadline could be 15.1.2008 Let's make it a new start for the year 2008 and deliver some nice and sweet soloing (doesn't have to be shred, just make it tasty 
)
All right, now i am awaiting your uploads and will update this topic if i think of something else to tell ya!

Hey Pavel, here is one of my first takes on the "Look Around" collab. I'm posting this for now just in case I don't get any time to keep working on it. I work a lot, and have very little time for practicing, but hopefully I will be able to make some time and work on my solo some more.
Other than that, not really sure what I was thinking when starting the solo. This is my first collab and I don't ever really make up any solos to backing tracks. It had a weird feel to it, but I kept thinking of a melody in my head and still can't figure out what it was.

I also need to thank bogdan who pointed out a really bad part I had originally and I changed it
Ow after listening a few times, I think I went a bit off tempo, so for now use this, but I might rerecord it.
EDIT: I just didn't place it perfectly in cubase, now I have

It's up to you to decide which one to leave for compilation. I personally liked the first one more, it sounded cooler than the new one Also you ran into a wrong scale right before the middle of the solo. Wanna give it another shot?
After you decided which one to leave for compilation or re-record a new solo, just delete other mp3's

I cannot wait to hear the finished product, I really dig the backing track and those solo's are rocking the house. Once I learn how to record I cannot wait to participate in these collaborations. I am looking to purchase Guitar rig 3 soon. Peace

This topic went dead so just to revive it: we have 5 more days until the deadline! I think it would be cool if you could all finish your solos so we don't have to wait 3 months for the collab to finish
On 16th January i will take your solos and compile in a final mixdown so those who didn't record it -> please do it in these 5 days

Hey Pavel,
I was never in the collab but I wanted to learn to solo in the Major pentatonic and the Ionian scale, I utilized both of them (or tried to at least). So if none of the other collaborators contribute, here's what I got.
I think the bends at the end of the song go out of key a bit, so I will re-record them tomorrow if you need the solo for the colab. =)

Go easy on me - that's my first ever recorded triplet sweeps ... couldn't manage 16ths so I went with 8ths - looking forward to getting your comments Pavel (apart from speed them up!!!)

sorry my recording cable crapped out on me over the weekend, and with classes and work i didnt have a chance to grab a new one until today.
but never the less, i have my section done!

i also just found out that i have "red light syndrome"
it took me like 20 tries to get the legato part sounding right.......i get scared of the big red recording light lol
EDIT: Pavel i just noticed that my guitar is way louder than i wanted....... if you could turn it down a bit in the final cut i'll love you forever
