Hey guys! Today I had a reunion with a possible producer for new Cirse's album. He is a really nice guy and we talked a lot about the importance of the song by itself. He talked about doing a very intensive pre-production of the songs. I gave him 10 new songs and he will give me his opinion in a week. The guy is called Alejandro Vazquez and the last two albums that eh produced are:

It's true that promotion is as important as the songs so we have that in mind.

Time spent in pre prep is always good as it will minimise time wasted at recording/mixing.
Personally I like producers who can communicate a clear idea of what they want and who then allow us engineers to get on with our work. The producers who are annoying are the ones who can't communicate clearly and/or don't have at least a basic understanding of the different stages of production and so have unreasonable expectations and/or are inconsistent and/or try to tell us how to record/mix/master. -------------------- Get your music professionally mastered by anl AES registered Mastering Engineer. That's why they are in "pre production" which is the prep work for going in to the studio. But I like your idea! What if he put up some stems (single tracks, like drums, bass, guitar) and we do our own mixdown of a song? That would be fun and good practice mixing  But the tracks are already recorded so it's mostly a mixing challenge. I'd be in for a go! Todd Yeah Todd, the idea is to work on the songs. We just have our first reunion and he will listen to the songs before start a work toghether but we made the first step.
