Original lesson: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guitar/mark-knopfler-style-lesson/

Here's my take of this beautiful lesson. I tune in D so I changed the pitch of the backing track, I also used a pick. Thanks for watching Cheers Peter

Hi man! Nice take on this lesson. You've already learnt all the parts very well. Your timing is very good and most of the parts are very well played. This would be a lesson 100% in the style of Mark if you would have used just your fingers. Your tone would sound warmer if you would play with your fingers. Besides this difference I think that your vibrato and bending could be more consistent. I notice that you don't use the other fingers to help the one that is doing vibrato or bending. You would really improve both techniques if you do it. Also, I think that the two faster licks need some more practice to sound tighter.

But' it's a good take, just keep on playing it a bit. wink.gif

Gabriel pointed very important thing - whole trick about Mark style ( same with Jeff Beck) is to use Your fingers instead of the pick. From the other hand I can understand that some people might like the melody line, but ain't so interested in playing with the fingers so I leave some headroom for the judgement wink.gif ) 0:22 pick is slipping or it's a hands synchro issue - lick neeed more practice. 0:28 one note was missed (didn't hit correctly with Your right hand). 0:33 similar situation.

You got nice tone, good tuning and pretty nice timming but in all faster runs You loose some notes - those are often just forgotten to hit with the pick or something wrong with the left hand pressure. Try to improve those to get nice an deserved 10 wink.gif

Hey mate smile.gif I think there's nothing else I can add, aside from one thing - the purpose of the REC zone is to test your abilities in getting as close as possible to a recording of choice and as Darius said - to get there, means playing things exactly as they are in the original recording. Try using your fingers and the approach will change things for certain wink.gif

Keep rocking!

I really like your tone on this. As the guys pointed out, the faster licks could be smoother.. but it's still a good performance smile.gif

Gab's point about vibrato is worth looking at .. I'm always telling people the same thing. Extra fingers can add more solidarity to vibrato (and bending) and is easier than using just the strength of one lonely finger biggrin.gif
