I am looking forward to start working with you!
I have a few questions that will help me to get a better idea about mentoring you!
Here they are:
-What are your goals?
-What is your weakness?
-What is your strongest point?
-Your favorite guitar players?

I can play like level 2..just don't get how to travel the fret board to play a Open Jam type atmosphere, I want to like guest star and play with a few of my buddys in the local bands, that's my dram, not be in a band, but get on stage and play a few good awesome songs!

It seems to be easier for me to play m own riffs or stuff then try to memorize all of the songs I want to play..even though I want to someday..I love the Scorpions, Tommy Shaw, anything classic..and rocking..

Well more you do it better it will get! Eventually you will get to the point when you won't have to think about it and it will just flow natural! Next week I will join you and will be playing on the track with you guiding you through! For now I would like to hear your take and what you came up with!

oh the notes no problem, I meant the mechanical Exercise...

As far as playing on that track, I can work on those 2 A minor and E minor Scales and see what I come up with, I had fun messing with it last night.

Perfect! I think if it's easier for you to memorize your own licks I can teach you how to create them!
Here is the backing track for you!
http://soundcloud.com/alex-feather-akimov/guitar

The chords are C maj - A mi - E mi
For your first assignment we will take two pentatonics and combine them together
Here are the pentatonics I want you to use:
A minor

E minor

Take any notes and create your own licks!
Here is an example:
E |--8--5--7--5--------5-------|--------8-----7-----8-------|----|
B |--------------8--5----------|-----------5-----5-----8----|----|
G |-----------------------4----|--5--7----------------------|----|
D |----------------------------|----------------------------|----|
A |----------------------------|----------------------------|----|
E |----------------------------|----------------------------|----|

--------------------8--5----|----||
--------------5-------------|----||
--5--7-----------7----------|----||

You did a very good job! I would like you to try to expand pentatonics and use other shapes as well!
Also I would like you to add D minor pentatonic in this position!

Next week I will start recording with you to give you more ideas!
Let me know if you have any questions!

Hey alex, I see you responded 2 days ago..lol, is there a way for the site to let me know you answered or replied to me? cause I miss this and it's wasting time, I could have done something had I knew you answered me..

thanks
I now see this message has a notification of email repleys but this was quick message I wonder if the regular reply has the same thing .

What do you mean by expanding the pentatonics? you mean in different positions?

Doing good been practicing Judas Priest Breaking the Law can almost play good with the backing track been using guitar pro 6 to help out, also leaning Kansas Carry on my wayward Son.

Also been doing the Van Halen Style rhythm..now just to make them smooth and sound good.
