Okay I am excited to see it ! I have a pretty cool exercise! It will help you to master the neck plus work on your modes plus will bring your alternative picking to the next level! Here it is! E ||----------------------------------------------3----| Guitar Pro Scales_workout.gp5 ( 8.99K ) Number of downloads: 96 I would like you to start by getting use to those shapes and when you will be learning them try to call out notes it will help you to master the neck better! And here is a cool part of this exercise! I played a track and would like you to play along with me! This exercise will help you with picking technique! http://soundcloud.com/alex-feather-akimov/modes-workout Let me know if you have any questions or need help! -------------------- |

Alex this is the the same exercise as you gave me previously. I have already completed it, except I didnt read the part about randomly stopping and calling out the note name. I will work on that otherwise I am ready for a new assignment Please Oh wow sorry I must of missed it! It's a very new exercise and not that many students tried it yet! So I am trying to give it to some! So let's start getting into improvisation! I have a backing track for you it's a rock shuffle style! Standard Blues progression but a little heavier! http://soundcloud.com/alex-feather-akimov/rockshuffle So the chords are: A7 - D7 - E7 What we will be doing is jamming back and forth! It will be like a collab but one on one! I will prepare my track in a couple of days but in the meantime would like you to start getting use to this track and play over the changes! Scales to use for this exercise: Over A7 A Major pentatonic Over D7 D minor blues pentatonic Over E7 E minor pentatonic I will base my solo of the same scales and shapes! Let me know if you have any questions or need help! This post has been edited by Alex Feather: Jul 5 2012, 05:35 PM -------------------- |

Wow this is news to me ! I thought that when improvising we just used scales from that key. So if we are in the key of G for example I didnt think we could use the C major pentatonic scale over a C chord ! I just have one question. You listed the progression as E7-A7-B7, but down below you said A7-D7-E7 ? So is the chord a B7 or a D7 ? So I have recorded my take! I played exactly the same shapes that I gave you! Here it is http://soundcloud.com/alex-feather-akimov/ jeseej"> http://soundcloud.com/alex-feather-akimov/ jeseej I would like you to continue my idea for the same amount of bars I played it! Try to be as melodic as possible! Q&A technique works great for this track! Please leave the rest of the backing track playing so I can add the next part! Let me know if you have any questions or need help! -------------------- |

This is so sweet !!!! Okay here my part is Let me know what you think !! http://soundcloud.com/jessej-3/blues-rock-solo-part-1 You did a very good job! I like your ideas! Sounded very nice! I would suggest to play a little less in the beginning and try to build it up towards the end Question & Answer technique would work perfect for it! Let me know if you have any questions or need help! -------------------- |
