maybe you are on iphone, youtube got a special app to run on the iphone.
to make it short, iphone can't read flash based content (it can run flash games tho), so it can't run flash videos (including gmc videos).

the youtube app search for a mp4 file of the video you are looking.

I think current generation of phones are not able to play most of videos online. Only with special apps for youtube and other services phone can play back those videos online.

Adrian's got the nail on the head.

Today's smart phones don't support flash yet.

The next generation will have it, though!

and iphones CAN read flash, apple just won't let us watch flash videos..
why? well because they think it is right.

because flash is called a "proprietary format", it's own by adobe, and apple don't really like to have that on their products, even they have their mighty .mov which for me it sucks...

anyway, we will have good news when the new html5 video players are out.

and .. if Apple would allow flash applications on the iPhone, it would be easy to bypass the AppStore by hosting them online. I'm afraid even future generations will not support flash sad.gif

iPhone will have to eventually support flash.

It will go out of business if they don't get it!

iphone will never support flash. Adobe even said so.

Iphone can run youtube because they have their own player which converts it to another format other than flash.

by the end of the quarter, most android based cell phones will be able to run flash according to adobe.

Another thing to mention is that Google (Youtube) is making a transition from Flash to HTML5. This should put Adobe out of focus on the biggest video service on the web. Another important thing is to mention that only Chrome and IE Chrome frame is supported (possibly other will be supported too). Anything google enabled will have it's own way of work I guess..

I'll be glad when hopefully someday everything is finally standardized..

Haven't we gone through this dance with enough different things to learn this lesson?

I guess not yet.. haha.

Funny how Microsoft is forced to ADVERTISE for other internet browsers (even though you perfectly well can install and run whichever you like) while Apple is allowed to cut support for certain formats among other things.

The world is such a fair place smile.gif

Anyway, you can get your iPhone to run flash. Even the iPad was hacked within the first 24h of release for the same purpose.
I don't own either, but if you search the net I'm sure you can find a guide on how to do it. ph34r.gif

Sadly, the iPhone is not the best way to view GMC content. You'd be better off to get a cheap netbook (about $250) just for viewing GMC content if you don't have another computer already. Bigger screen and bigger keyboard to type in the forums. smile.gif

Practice!
Todd

I haven't upgraded my cell phone for years 5 at least for this reason. Always something new comes up but it lacks features. I don't currently find any phone well suited for surfing the web (not to mention watching multimedia). Though I'm a big fan on small notebooks. I own asus eee pc 701 (first model that came out) and it really does the job well. There are of course better notebooks around now.
