Hey GMC,
Finally I convinced my self to write here for once. I've been a member for quite some time now but stayed away from all the commenting and forum shizzle (bad choice to be honest), however I am here now! I've decided to begin participating more up-front and personal in things in order to progress with my skills on the guitar. I'm a danish bloke and I'm 19 years old. I got my first guitar in 8'th grade (fender squire! ), when I was some 14-15 years old. I started off with half a year of selfteaching until I could get some classes, which I had for a year. Then due to some events where I couldn't play and not having the time to take classes, since then has been a self-taught road. Until last year I had a few guitars (only minor low-priced models) along with my little 15w amp, this I changed last year where I bought a Randall 100w amplifier along with a Gibson guitar (always loved gibson so was mighty happy when I finally got one!). I have always loved music and bought a set of drumms as well, however I ended up staying with my guitar and my bro took over the drums which he now play like a champ. I however personally dont really feel I'm that good at playing guitar (regardless of my friends saying I'm sick, but what do those ignorant people know ). I found GMC about a year ago, and was tossing around with the free videos until I finally decided to take the chance and make a payment, as I thought to my self - if this is a fraud they sure as hell has set it up nicely! Which ofcause I havnt regreted doing.
My personal feel towards music is just about anything, and I am truly amazed by how good some of you guys (must admit that before I used to say "if I just could play like Kirk or Paul Gilbert!" now I say; if I ever get near as good as Muris....") in here are. Normally I find bits'n'pieces of a song I learn, but I've tried to be a little more consistent in trying to learn whole songs at the time. One of my alltime favorite was the CanonD arrangements, I hit Trond's head on and got it quite well down, atleast enough to impress the ladies , but not really enough to impress my self, or you probably. I also really enjoyed the Clouds and Rain Drops songs by Dejan.
Hopefully someone here can help me a bit out whenever I decide to throw something up, because I think I've got a bad start as I havnt been teached but self-taught most of the way which leads to some issues. Been thinking strongly about the MTP stuff, but having a hard time figuring exactly out if it's still open or not
But yeah, hope you can find place for a danish bloke here - I'm atleast glad to be around ^^
Best Regards
Dennis
