My simple, cost-effective&soundproofed home studio. Greenscreen wall included for collab video work.

Main features: computer (i5 based, 8G, 120+60GB SSD, multiple spinners) in the other room for quietness.
B&W main monitors, KRK Rokit5 nearfields. AKG K240 headphones, Yamaha subwoofer.
Runs Cubase 6.5 at the moment, win 7 64bit.
Also use Amplitube 3 w/Stealth plug for guitars.
Presonus Firebox audio interface, DBX tube preamp channel strip. Some other outboard gear, compressor, multiFX units for guitars etc.
Half a dozen custom guitars, all with EMG's.
Alesis DM-8 Pro drumkit, Yamaha bass.
Marshall JVM410h & Behringer GMX-110 for amps.
Korg Nano series controllers, ShuttleXpress controller mostly for remote control and video work with Sony Vegas.

Kids, Leo (8) and Paul (3) like it too for watching Netflix mostly :-)

Very cozy looking setup/room!

I also use KRK Rokit5s - what did you put bellow them?
Is that used for reducing vibration/bass?

I think I should bring mine up on something or some kind of mini stand, currently they are sitting on the computer desk directly.

Yeah it'd be a good idea to rise them a little, if they're right on the desk a lot of the sound comes via reflection from the table surface and it's gonna wreak havoc with the sound for sure.

I used 2" slabs of limestone, because I happened to have 'em and they make for a nice stable, vibrating-resisting base for the monitors simply with their mass resisting movement, and below them I have 1,5" thick slabs of rather hard rubber which should help eliminate transfering vibrations to and from the table.

Sounds pretty HiFi when I write it out, but really it's just some odd bits of material I had lying around, didn't shop for them specifically. I don't think the materials do very much there in the end, the main thing is to get them a little farther from any nearby surface, be it behind or under the speakers. I used to have mine right by the wall before and that too spoils the low end rather effectively.
