GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Gary Moore Tribute Collaboration

Posted by: Cosmin Lupu Mar 9 2014, 05:35 PM

In Gary's honor, we have prepared this collab, having 2 backing tracks in which you can use the minor blues scale and the major one at two different tempos, so that everyone can feel free to jump in and jam!

If you want to sing the sorrow or you want to jam for joy, we've got both options ready, so come and join!

But first, let's see the tech specs:

-------------------------------------------
BACKING TRACKS

This collab is based on Piotr's: Ballad and Blues II: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Ballad-and-Blues-II/

Tempo : 90 BPM - Slow minor track  collab5_slow_90bpm.wav ( 6.73MB ) : 1941

Key : A minor

Tempo: 135 BPM - Fast major track  collab5_fast_135bpm.wav ( 4.79MB ) : 1140

Key: A major
-------------------------------------------

Here's everything you need to know about how to enter this collaboration:

1. Download the backing track and open it in your recording software
2. Record your part in the recording software and with your video cam (if you have the possibility to record video).
You can record anything - a short fill part, rhythm based ideas, or a full lead part (solo).
3. Render one track containing your recording only - 16 bit wave file 44,1 kHz
4. Render one track containing both solo and backing track in an .mp3 format
5. Send us your video (preferably in .mp4 format)

As before, you can send us the last 3 files mentioned, using a dropbox link, or any other transfer service you are used to, by posting them in this thread or attaching them to a private message.

If you can't submit a video, you can send us only the audio files and some pictures of you - it will work out great as well!
The more pictures you send, the better will it be for editing in the final video!

When attaching/sending the collab files, please include the source file of the video as well.

Very important: IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER/ ADVANCED/ PRO/ GOD - all styles, approaches and all levels are welcome and you can even play just a short fill if you feel like it!

Bringing your contribution to this track and tribute to the GMC community is what really matters!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Collab tips:

As in the previous collabs, we want this one to stand out as much as possible, because this will give your playing and progress maximum exposure. So here's what we suggest:

Making short but polished and detailed lines will always give you better results! If you focus on a short part of the backing track, then you will most likely amaze yourself and others! No explicit need to play over the full backing track length, pick any amount of bars you feel most comfortable playing over. It is always better to come up with something short but catchy or memorable!

That was a "yes", by the way.
As in "yes, I'm in"

I'm brand new here but I'd like to give this a try. I'm working on getting my Software to play nice with my amp interface. I think it is almost dialed in. I love Gary Moore, this would be a blast!

These are two awesome and fun backings guys! Here is a little improv I came up with this evening for the fast one. What do you guys think, should I submit this, or should I noodle around with it some Moore? biggrin.gif

Howdy Mr Rich smile.gif I would polish it a bit, especially around 0:22 - it's a bit unsure there. And the tone sounds a bit unclear - you got a chorus in there maybe? I would go for a dryer tone smile.gif

Great starting point, Rich! Let's hear some other takes as well! Maybe you'll come up with something even better!

I've yet to come up with anything good over the major track. Minor is a little easier for me.

This is cool approach but if I might suggest something based on over year since I had pleasure to listen to You takes that I think You're on of those guys who could deliver awesome, emotional take for the slow part smile.gif It's not "You have to". It's just my thought based on what I know You are able to make fantastic smile.gif

Hi All,
At the risk of sounding like a n00b, we're just submitting a 30 second clip of our solo right? I noticed the backing tracks were only that long and wasn't sure if people were looping them or everyone is just doing 30 seconds.

Sorry if the answer is obvious. rolleyes.gif

Yes - this is correct.
You can download the backing you would like to jam over and submit your solo over it in any duration (soloing over full backing or just partially). If you wish, you can also make your solo shorter. Everything works! smile.gif
In the final mix, all the takes are combined/mixed together to form a unique musical sounding piece/song.

Great to have you in this collab - please feel free to ask if you have any questions or need any help along the way.

Ok Cosmin, Yes, the lead in A note in that phrase at 22 secs in may be ghosted a bit I guess. It's kind of a staggered minor 6 triad I think, then to the 7th with a slide from there to the root (1st, 6th, m3rd, 7th, root octave) and maybe the tone is a bit greasy. You don't like the chorus? There is that, with a touch of reverb and delay too. I'll see what I can do. Thanks man! smile.gif

Thanks alot Ben,I kind of wish the backings had one more loop, but I understand that if there a lot of takes (And it looks like there will be) that the end result could be a very long track biggrin.gif I like where your ideas are headed for the Minor version too. I am sure by the time you are done with it that you will have something great. smile.gif

Good sketch Neil...now it's time to make some order in this solo biggrin.gif Try to specify what exactly happens in those dense parts. Try to assign all note to particular time values and break all solo to parts. I'm sure You'll give as another great add to the collaboration smile.gif

Monica - I hope so biggrin.gif I also hope it will work that way for long distance. But I'm just a human, I might be wrong someday wink.gif

Great playing on this one man! Bends are precise here and it has a very good energy. Well done.

You can share takes for both backings off course, then we will work on a final mix to put everything together and if the final mix is too long we will edit it to make cooler to listen / watch.

Hi wavo, I think that your take is going on the right track. There is still room to polish your playing there, adjust bending and give more dynamics to your playing. Give it more time of work and the final result will be top level.

Hi All,
At the risk of sounding like a n00b, we're just submitting a 30 second clip of our solo right? I noticed the backing tracks were only that long and wasn't sure if people were looping them or everyone is just doing 30 seconds.

Sorry if the answer is obvious. rolleyes.gif

It is necessary for us to create something that will hold listener attention. If We would put 2 minutes full solos of everybody I think not everyone could challenge of listening to a full collab mix - imagine we have even up to 20 solos per collab! smile.gif

But it is allowed to post longer take because if you name Your takes same as collab title, it will display next to the final mix video on YouTube. Once somebody get's interested in Your playing he can always check Your full entry on You channel smile.gif

Also You have a good point...maybe the "noob" word is not best at the place but in deed when You focus to make shorter solo, You can rethink it many times and improve to best level so You give a great image of Your playing for all the listeners smile.gif

We want the collaboration to have a positive affect on students skills development as well smile.gif

Hi mate! This take sounds much better than the previous one. Your bending is more precise now. If you want to continue improving it, I would work a bit more in the phrasing. I think that it starts ok but the overall idea is a bit repetitive, you should take one of the 4 phrases and change a bit the rhythm, or at least don't use bending, to make it sound different.

When I'm composing a solo and I have a recording, I mark the stronger sections and the weaker ones, those parts that I love and those that are there just to fill the space. I use to mute the weaker parts and try to work on new ones. I repeat this process many times until I get something that I believe is 100% strong. smile.gif

Hi mate! The take is getting close. I like the first phrasings, the first half. I think that the second half needs definition, there are many scale patterns but it seems that there is nothing more happening there, there is a main phrase lacking there. Those patterns are good connectors but try to define the phrases between them.

I think that if you follow Gabi's suggestions, you can improve your take even more! This one is already a lot better, so step by step, if you eliminate the repetitiveness you will obtain phrases which are more interesting. I've noticed a structural pattern, consisting in taking the same phrase and playing it further up the scale somehow with breaks in between - this is a very good idea, add a little more variation and you have it!

https://soundcloud.com/pro-cyon/gmcmoorecollab-by-procyon

Tasty stuff man! Ending is ok - good cooperation with backing and will nicely lead into another solo smile.gif Well done smile.gif Only things that took my attention are a few under-pitched bends at the ending part. Nice to have Your again within the collaboration dudes biggrin.gif

Good one. You have a good taste my friend. Of course like huargo said - for some peeps it might more pleasan't to have some breath/breaks inside but as an exmaple of root blues combined with some modern stuff it's a complete take and I would go for it.

Might be the way it was recorded, but it might be interesting to experiment a bit with the dynamics.
For example, picking softly at the beginning and building up the intensity by picking really hard somewhere in the middle, towards the end of the solo to build climax. Overall, it is a very cool take.

I wouldn't say I'm enjoying this one any more than the others but I've had a little more time to work on it than usual so, as you say, I've been able to be a bit more methodical. Also, on the others I didn't share my sketch takes to start with so I've enjoyed the feedback that that has brought.

Now that was nice Ricky! smile.gif I like You sense of melody. Only tip I could give here is Your take lacks a bit of colors. You ae able to create very touching melodies but You could sepnd some more time on polishing them. There are a lot of tools available

1. different vibrato speed and depth
2. Bend and prebens have a few different aproaches - different tempo, different rhythm of bending for example
3. Slides
4. Different picking strength

All those things add colos, important details that are hidden but makes the solo sound pros. If You have andy free time maybe You could add some extra flavour to You take? The melody is very good. It's not about changing notes. It's only about addin much more details to it smile.gif'

In blues it's not the numebr of the notes but the magic of articulation and dynamics which makes it so emotional and full of flavour smile.gif

Anyway well done smile.gif Very nice take smile.gif

It's a very good take man! Your playing is very precise and the licks fit great over the backing.

Some comments that come to mind and that can give ideas:

1. Your tone has too much drive and it makes difficult to get good dynamics.
2. There is a main / defined melody lacking.
3. This is a blues backing, I would add here and there some more "pentatonic style" licks with angry, longer bends.
4. The first half is more interesting than the second. I think that there is nothing new happening in the second half compared with the amazing first one.

That's all! I hope that it gives ideas. By the way, the take is good and will fit great in the collab!

Nice take! Darius gave good feedback and ideas to improve this one. There is something weird happening to me with your take.. I find your compositions and guitar melodies at Creativity workouts much deeper than this take. Did you focus too much on scales and playing instead of feeling when you created this solo?

Hey mate! I like the idea very much and the vibrato around 0:26 is very Michael Lee Firkins'ish - I'm a fan biggrin.gif

Towards the end tho, there's a tendency to barely reach the intended pitch so that's what I'd work on wink.gif

BIG DISASTER!!!!!
I was just installing some of my nice new Software and my PC just crashed. Not just crashed but it now won't start at all! It's almost like it blew a fuse, although it hasn't. I think something on the M/Board has blown up!! Or maybe the Power Supply, I'm not sure!!
All my project files are on a HDD which I now can't access!!

Holy ..... What a Bad news :/ Neil...You're not too lucky those days. I remember You had some PC issues before

Nice solo Tony! I like those "happy adds" biggrin.gif I see You diduse some of the previous tips smile.gif This solo is nicely "glued" and fits well to the track while being something original smile.gif Well done smile.gif

Can you test out the components of your computer?

My first move when things go wrong is always to take everything apart, clean it a bit and put every component back together. It's worked for me before, but of course if it's a power supply or motherboard issue, it may not be that simple. smile.gif

Posted by: gregc1 Apr 3 2014, 04:23 PM

Ouch! I feel your pain Mr. Jones. My computer crashed not too long ago and it was DEVASTATING when that is the main method for using your guitar. Godspeed getting that think back up and running.

When I got back up (new computer) I was able to reload Guitar Rig but I no longer had the presets I took forever to create and be satisfied with. Fortunately I had sent my bank to a couple GMCers so it was still in my Dropbox. They unknowingly saved my ass. laugh.gif

Also wanted to mention, I'm loving all of the takes for this collab. This thing is coming along very nicely.

It's definitely looking like the M/Board. If I turn it on the LEDS in the front light up momentarily and the cooling fans spin for a second and then it all just stops!!! I'm currently removing all extra drives and unneeded peripherals and see what happens!!

Thanks for the sympathy Greg!! Fortunately all my presets/Projects/VST and VSTi's are all on two other drives and not the main one so all of that lot should be safe!!
I hope!!!

Well if it all just stops it's probably a mobo or power supply issue which is honestly 'ok' and better than your HDD crashing and going out. It's a terrible feeling to have the computer start up but not be able to find your Hard Drive or find that it has been corrupted. Hopefully all your data will be ok and you'll be up and running soon!
I've been there several times, I feel for you man.

That's really bad, a disaster. I had that once also. Since that time I backup everything on an external harddrive. Any change of bringing it to a tech repair centre or something?

All my work/projects etc are on different drives and 'ghosted' onto an external unit as well! Hopefully have a friend coming round tomorrow to have a look and pinpoint what the problem is!!

It's really just one fast run, which is just legato. I originally wanted to play it with alternate picking, but I couldn't get it even or steady enough.

Here's the tab in case you want to have a closer look smile.gif

I think it's possible! You only have to match Your learning process to Your time available for practice smile.gif

I think I would try to learn one fast run, based on a pentatonic and try to put it everywhere I plkay since day #1. The key is to make one thing work perfect no matter how much time You spent. Getting one thing done through a long time is better than doing many different complex things but never make them work in 100% smile.gif

You could develope Your solos buy adding one lick per time... smile.gif

I agree with Darius. One step at a time. It's not about speed, but using the speed in a melodic way - and I don't always do that, I must admit. But then again, I don't have full control over my technique, and I think if ever I got to where I want to be, maybe I could use speedier licks in an even more tasteful way (I guess you could say my aim is somewhat what Guido is presenting in his Lukather lesson smile.gif )

*Quick Update*
I have got my PC back up and running again!! I really don't know what the problem was but in the end I had to re-format my SSD and do a fresh install of Win 7 (couldn't just do an update) which took 4 or 5 attempts!! (Had to re-format between each attempt too!!)
Anyway, 7 seems to be stable and running OK now so now I have a couple of days of just sitting here re-installing stuff and installing my new Softwares too!!
Oh the excitement is killing me!!! tongue.gif

Sounds like a similar problem to what I had with my laptop when installing Windows 7 some week or two back. I had to try and install it 5 times to get it working in the end.

thanks Darius & Cael, I think that's a good idea about getting one lick and putting it in as much as I can. I have a few fast pentatonic runs within some of the lessons Im working on, I could start with one of those and see if I can get it into some backings.

Yeah Bleez...the earlier You start the faster You'll see how the lick will become easier to put everywhere. It's annoying for You regular listeners for some time but since You get more licks You'll now absue this one that much. It's a netural and most effective way.

For example...I have my arpeggios period and I'll make some of You bored with it but...this gives me ability to test as many configurations as possible. Also it's about how to learn to use one lick over many harmonic concepts. Helps a lot when You improvise. Maybe You coul try and show us You lick of choice that you'll be working with ?smile.gif

And what about getting the updates for Windows 7? That was what gave me the biggest problems.

Posted by: Todd Simpson Apr 9 2014, 03:41 AM

I remember fighting windows back in the day, I gotta say I don't miss it smile.gif The worst was working on an AVID system running windows. It has these daughter cards that go in the computer and if you update one thing (like quicktime for example) you can break the entire rig and have to start from scratch. I don't miss avid either smile.gif

Speaking of editing vid, I posted in another thread, you can download a new FREE cross platform (PC/mac) video editor that spanks the pants off of whatever I've put it up against so far. It's called DAVINCI RESOLVE LITE 10.

Thanks for your nice comment, Cosmin!
It's a Gibson SG Tribute Future - I won it in a contest last year (btw: the music store who donated this price has gone broke in the meantime huh.gif - I really hope it is not because of me biggrin.gif ).
I am quite happy with this guitar: It is light and easy to play once you get accustomed to it (the neck has an asymmetrical shape) and it has a great tone in my opinion. And because of the special mechanics changing strings is done in no time - this is absolutely great because I really hate to change strings... dry.gif

I have sent the files to Cosmin. He received them in working condition. Now the wait begins until the final collab vid is ready. I'm really curious to see the final results of all the solo's combined. Exciting!

I gave Dropbox link to Cosmin and I hope those files are ok. wink.gif

Video is just source file and it's not good and it take long time for me to get those in sync with audio. smile.gif
I totally forgot from last time how I did it, maybe I should do these much more often. biggrin.gif

My version is slow and very basic I think, but it's better than nothing! smile.gif

Hi friend! Your take is totally related with your nickname. laugh.gif I think that your playing is tasty and enjoyable, maybe it would need a change in the second half but be sure that we will do something during the mix / edition.

Thanks for joining!!

Hello guys!

Without further ado, here is the grand final mix along with our comments! smile.gif

Thank you for being a part of this and we are looking forward to seeing all of you in as many collabs as possible from now on!

Gabriel

Capasso: Hi mate! I like the notes that you play in your solo and how you combine long bends with faster ideas. Your solo sounds tasty and it’s a great way to open the collab.

WRK: Your solo has aggression, feeling and melody and everything combined in a ballad style blues. I like those killer bends, the way you add vibrato and your warm tone. Everything is great there. Thanks for joining!

Sensible Jones: Some more bear, more aggressive playing and you will be ready for playing with the ZZtop! Haha. Your playing is very tasty, I like the licks that you recorded and your groove goes very cool with the backing. I wish you would play the take even more relaxed and feeling what you play a bit more. You look very concentrated and everything is in place but try relaxing your body a bit more while you play. Keep on rocking.

Wavo: Hi friend! This is a very good composition, it fits perfect with the backing and style. Both your technique and sound are very good, great job!!

Beat & Bleez: Darius decided to combine yours takes and I think that it has been a clever decision. Both compositions are very similar, you combine melodic bends some triplets in the lower string and this makes that your takes are all the time doing some kind of counterpoint. It’s really cool to hear you jamming together. Keep on rocking guys!

Procyon: Those seem to be very fast and agile hands! But in this case you went for the bluesy style and decided to play long notes with vibrato and longs bends. Your solo sounds great over the slow backing, not only because of your tasty playing, also because of the nice tone that you set. Great job!

Allison: What a nice solo mate! It transmits peace and beauty. Your note choice is very tasty and your playing is very expressive. Congratulations Allison!

TonyK: The first thing that comes to mind when your take starts is: what a nice guitar! There are some good ideas in your solo but I think that it lacks a bit of direction, you should focus on this during your composition/improvisation practice. Try to make your ideas more consistent.

Ricky9 & SlowFingaX: Another great success by Darius! Your takes fits excellent toghether. You both provided very melodic and tasty phrases that sounds killer combined in this collab. This is my favorite part of the collab, congratulations!! You should start a collab song together.

Monica: Your takes shows how much you are improving as a guitarist since the first time I saw you playing. This solo is fantastic, it sounds like the professional. It’s tasty, it’s played perfectly, with enough feeling and the tone is killer. You are great Monica, keep on rocking.

Snoop: Awesome solo man! I love it. It starts dark and quiet and starts to grow when you reach the half of it. It has a perfect evolution, and you got it with the composition but also with your interpretation. It’s a very enjoyable composition and playing. Congrats Snoop!

Cael: Good playing man! I like your take, it's dark and mysterious. It starts with longer notes with very well played vibrato and then a perfectly played fast licks gives place to the harmonized section which sound more epic but keeps the dark feeling. Your tone is deep and your playing very tight. Thanks for joining!!

Jeroen: Gary is surely proud of your solo! It sounds very Moore style, long bends and very expressive playing. That guitar seems to be crying. I think that your tone fits perfect with the backing and it also reminds me to Gary's tone. Everything is great in your take, thanks for joining friend!

Gregc: I'm impressed how good your rhythm playing sounds over the backing. It makes it sound more powerful and interesting, and gives a cool extra to Darius solo. Thanks for it!

Cosmin

Capasso:Hey mate smile.gif Good take here - I especially like that descending lick you used around 0:19! Keep up the good work and I hope to see you in the next collabs as well biggrin.gif

WRK: Hey WRk! I liked the touch and phrasing in your solo a lot - it has that bluesy touch and a visceral vibrato which I very much enjoy listening to in any solo I would hear! Good work!

Sensible Jones: Hello Neal! I like the direction you had on this one and the fact that you ventured into major blues territory, which is not that popular with folks in general, due to the fact that it's not always easy to phrase over it smile.gif Nice interval licks and notes ringing into each other smile.gif

Wavo: Hehe! I hear that great tone there! Gibson for the win and nice major blues phrasing!

Beat & Bleez: Our first duo in the collab - you complemented each other like Yin and Yang - long notes versus shorter notes! Good match by Darius and you guys played nice together, while Beat had a very melodic lead part himself. Nice note choice and articulation control!!

Procyon: The man with the chocolate guitar strikes again! biggrin.gif Great solo mate! I think you caught a very good atmosphere there and your touch and articulation skills are great!

Allison: As Gabi said, I too agree on the fact that your take was nice and also, you threw in a more complex lick! Good work smile.gif

TonyK: Simple but not simplistic, and pretty much efficient over the major blues track! Good work mate - once you will train more on this type of progression, your flow will become better and better!

Ricky9 & SlowFingaX: Nice dialogue, you too! I think Darius had another great opportunity to create a flowing communication between the two of you!

Monica: Monica, as Gabi noticed, you always evolve as a player and musician and I know that tackling this sort of progression is new to you, so kudos for having the guts and also pulling it off in style!

Snoop: Snoop - goes well with smooth laugh.gif Kidding aside, great, great take buddy! I loved that fact that you have done some unpredictable things, such as the note at 04:31 wink.gif Nice, nice, nice!

Jeroen: That long howled bend is the salt and pepper in this take biggrin.gif Sorry for somehow missing to add the comment to yours, mate! It was very fitting and expressive for the context, so all in all - GOOD WORK!

Caellumamittendum: Your take was pretty darn amazing biggrin.gif Great tone, phrasing, direction, round and expressive playing! How could you think it's not good enough for comments? Eh? biggrin.gif

Darius

Capasso - Very nice solo man. You look like You really dig what You're playing - that's very good. Great to have You on board smile.gif You have a gift for sure and You feel the music + keep Your playing very emotional.

WRK and gregc1 - You didn't play a jam in this collab but I've pointed You because of Your similar style...similar and fantastic feel. Love dynamics and articulation usage from both of You. This time greg decided to provide some riffs but in his usual solos it's Your common style is visible smile.gif Excelent job on both takes!

Sensible Jones - You rock man! Nice tele smile.gif Very well matched take. Something different this time - I remember to hear You playing over sad backings most of the time:D Some great, essential blues pattern included.

Wavo - Very warm tone, maybe a bit too much for my taste but it's cool anyway and fit Your playing smile.gif Same as Mr. Jones - some good essential blues stuff there.

Bleez and Beat Zbinden - Couldn't resist to put You both together while listening that both solos where so well fitted rhythmically smile.gif Bleez as usuall has his recognizable style and tone - well done man! smile.gif Beat - very clean and selective tone. Good execution and well prepared tone. I like Your abilty to create really descent melodic basis for all Your solos. Excellent smile.gif

Procyon - Your SG is just crying! smile.gif Very good add - liked that sad mood and peace over Your take. Simple yet very refreshing at this point of collab. Great job! smile.gif Really sounding like Gary did! Great job on this one smile.gif

Allison Da Silva - You're very focused while playing. Trying to be precise and clean. That's a good atribute. You respect the listener taking care of details. Well done my friend smile.gif

Tonyk - I've just reminded the main GMC quote - "From zero to hero". It sounds bad tongue.gif I don't mean You sounded like zero at the beginning but now it's a HUGE difference in Your playing comparing to the very first collab we did. I really enjoy Your progress and tone improvements. You can be proud of Yourself man...even if You know it's still much work to be done smile.gif

SlowFingaX & Ricky9 - Somehow both of Your melodies sounded like a dialogue...I just got the together to make sure and...whoalaaaa smile.gif Both of You got that good pressure to prioritize some melodic concepts. Ricky9 - Your take after dynamics and articulation upgrade is really a good one. Keep up the good work. SlowfingaX - You got some good basics and feel of melody. I think You could work some more on colors in Your playing. Good melody basis is essential but it's just a first step. Nest step would be the details....a loooot of small details that seems to be not so obvious but do a lot of good job. I hope You know what I mean smile.gif You're on the good path smile.gif

Monica - well done! smile.gif Good fit to the track, good tone and execution smile.gif It really don't have to be anything more to please the listener. You're great musician and I think someday You'll be a monster player smile.gif Won't get into details - we got them in messages smile.gif

Snoop - Man that was something top notch. Love that bright tone, dynamics, low gain and some tiny details that make the difference smile.gif Great one! You make that strat sing.

Cael - You're a great musician. I always enjoy Your solos. The only thing I always miss was written in the message You read before smile.gif Excellent tension build with the phrase at the beginning of second part! Only 2 thoughts. 1 - Keep the rec button on for a little longer smile.gif I was distracted from Your solo after You just immediately press STOP button and take away the hands from Your guitar (You were in hurry to the toilet? smile.gif Leave some more time for fade out next time biggrin.gif 2 - I know it's hard and we all do this sometimes but try to avoid abusing one lick too many times in one solo - 5:51 / 5:52 this chromatic legato lick shows in a few different places (at least 3-4 times) with the same rhythm. It's just the detail but at Your level this is something important to be aware of smile.gif

Jeroen - Great to have You withing participants smile.gif Looks like You always bring some extra work to Your recordings - nice sound and visuals smile.gif Sorry for the technical issues. I think next will try to verify You files right after You send those and next time will be perfect. Liked Your smooth connection between all notes - praticaly no breaks, smooth lines and good match to the track.

Gregc1 - Awesome to join Your powerfull backing guitar. Truly pomped out the full mix at the end smile.gif Was a pleasure to join You at the final collab part smile.gif Descent, precise execution and great groove! You're always warm wellcome to collaborate smile.gif

There is something weird happening in the middle of your video in the big Preimiere project. It starts and ends in sync but for any reason it's moved in the middle, and I thought that it was something related to your playing on your video, it seemed that you moved a bit during the playback... Now I wonder if there was something that was moved during the audio mix...

It's amazing to take some time and look on your take in a nice context and realize - hey! I am making music biggrin.gif Isn't it great? How many of you have experienced this feeling? smile.gif

Ok guys. Sorry for the delay. Here are my thougts on Your takes smile.gif

Something different this time - I remember to hear You playing over sad backings most of the time biggrin.gif Some great, essential blues pattern included.

Excelent smile.gif

SlowFingaX & Ricky9 - Somehow both of Your melodies sounded like a dialogue...I just got the together to make sure and...whoalaaaa smile.gif Both of You got that good pressure to prioryze some melodic concepts. Ricky9 - Your take after dynamics and articulation upgrade is really a good one. Kepp up the good work.

Love that bright tone, dynamics, low gain and some tiny details that make the differance smile.gif Great one! You make that strat sing.

Cael - You're a great musician. I always enjoy Your solos. The only thing I always miss was written in the message You read before smile.gif Excellent tension build with the phrase at the beginning of second part! Only 2 thoughts. 1 - Keep the rec button on for a little longer smile.gif I was distraced from Your solo after You just immediately press STOP button and take away the hands from Your guitar (You were in hurry to the toilet? smile.gif Leave some more time for fade out next time biggrin.gif 2 - I know it's hard and we all do this sometimes but try to avoid abusing one lick too many times in one solo - 5:51 / 5:52 this chromatic legato lick shows in a few different places (at least 3-4 times) with the same rhythm.

Liked Your smooth connection between all notes - pratically no breaks, smooth lines and good match to the track.

Gregc1 - Awesome to join Your powerfull backing guitar. Truly pomped out the full mix at the end smile.gif Was a pleasure to join You at the final collab part smile.gif Descent, precise execution and great groove! You're always warm wellcome to collaborate smile.gif

Thank you for Your kind words and for all Your time that You spend to work with me smile.gif I hope You will have right and someday I will reach the level that we want. Only becoming a good player, I will show what damn brilliant instructor You are and making You to be proud of me it's a minimal way to reward Your work smile.gif You are and You will always be a model for me as musician, guitarist and instructor wink.gif

Thanks mate for your thoughts about my take! wink.gif
I'm learning more and more and try to find some more colors for my guitar playing...more steps forward of course is my goal! smile.gif

I just bought a new laptop because I got so tired for my old garbage laugh.gif
This isn't the fastest and best (but very good with my budget)..but much better than my over 5 year old Asus..which I had before.
Now I have Intel i7 with 8gb (earlier core 2 duo with 3gb). I hope it's much easier to make some editing and recording now...and maybe even some more better quality wink.gif Of course it's also take some time to get used to Win 8.1 laugh.gif

You're wellcome! smile.gif Your new device would be better for sure! smile.gif You will feel much more comfortable especially when editting video wink.gif

Thanks Darius! That's my 1987 G&L ASAT. biggrin.gif

I feel this with this type of collabs. Sometimes I just record a 15 seconds solo, and then the result is a big song with lots of nice take and great players rocking. GMC collabs are a beautiful experience.

Proof to the fact that sometimes a 15 seconds sequence can become a great story wink.gif biggrin.gif
