Hey guys, first post coming up!
After being away from playing the guitar for about 10 years, I decided to start fresh and trade my 62 american strat for a les paul traditional with the intention of playing some heavy rock/metal. It's just that ... I realised I'm not THAT into metal, and the guitar isn't as comfortable as when I first picked it up.
My style of playing has been almost exclusively texas blues, but I'm starting to feel "been there, done that" and it doesn't offer that much in terms of technical improvement. So after this metal phase I've found myself listening more and more to fusion and progressive rock and I'm starting to feel that I chose the wrong guitar. I've been checking out the Ibanez SV series (which shouldn't cost me anything since my LP is worth about as much as the Ibanez) and have to say that they look really good and seem to play well too. Have any of you guys got any experience with them?
I consider myself to be a fairly advanced player with decent technical skills - as much as you can get from playing the blues AND being a lefty playing right handed.
So my question is really if the Ibanez SV is a guitar worth checking out or are there any other in the same price range that would suit me better?
