Well here it is guys. The collab is open for everyone who wants to jam along. Again there is no "perfect" solo, You do what You do, and that is all that matters. Feel free to hop in and throw in some blues licks so we can all have fun and learn something new from each other.
I also invite GMC instructors too to join in, so we can have someone to learn of and analyze solos from. It is a small work for you, but a great deal for the members. Thanks
Little tip: I recommend using Dminor and Dmajor pentatonic scales combined. Experiment a little with those and you''ll see how nicely it fits together. HAVE FUN!
I guess I'll start it out...Here ya go.
Very nice man, nice wah use. Keep them coming guys, lets hear some blues!
Here ya go heres my take, Thought I`d try my new toy on this one (Pod XTL), god I love it!

Hm, getting all the riffs correct with one take is hard! I certainly did not suceed fully but this is my best shot =)
PS: Smells your take kicks ass
It was recorded through a Firewire 410 into a Shure SM57 hanging off a drum stick infront of my Mesa F-50. Hahha
So far great guys, keep them coming
heres my attempt. just the most simplistic blues for me
i know theres a couple of off notes in there but im hungover and had half hours sleep... thats my excuse and im sticking to it

Here's my clean take, pure pentatonic abuse
I went a bit off tempo around the middle, but nothing too serious, also this time I just improvised unlike previous collab's where I wrote my solo before recording.
Great stuff guys, keep them coming
is there room for me to post something?
Hey there. Here's my offering for the Blues collab.
This is the best of my solos, had to stop my fingers were hurting
Had to go clean on this one it just felt right for me
This was recorded from my line out socket on my Marshall MG 50DXF, (apparently the worst Marshall ever!!) and into my pc via IK Multimedia Stealthplug. Track recorded on Sonoma Riffworks.
Ok this is my recording....
bodo
Here's mine.
I tried something I havent done before, slide and fingerpicking with open D tuning on electric guitar.
I'm happy about the phrasing, but technique wise it's incredibly sloppy
(It's not always inside any particular scale btw)
Just got back from Vacation.
Ill upload it in this post tomorrow.
The endings a bit iffy but whatever, And man, what good takes everyone!

Final deadline for this great blues collab will be on the 8th of January. Record them and send them
I'm IN!!!
Ok, yesterday i promised Ivan i'll record a solo for this blues collab and here it is. I must admit i jammed an hour to this backing track and didn't like even 1 solo an i just figured out that blues is definitely not my style and i don't even enjoy playing it Here is my attempt:

Great effort Pavel and thanks for the support. There is no bad recordings just good fun here
I think this collab is going to be a nice one..
Again inviting all the forum to come and record some blues licks. Make the GMC proud guys
Ok, I thought I'd have a go at this - lots of fun, I really enjoy blues!
Great takes guys!!
I'll try to post mine in next few days
Here is my attempt.
I looked up the D minor Pentatonic and tried to stay with in it.
Thanks for the great exercise. I apologize in advance for the sloppy bits

Okay man, I'll wait it not a problem at all, we can go through the deadline a few days, take it easy.
So folks, once again, 10 more days to end the blues collab, plenty of time on your hands, grab that guitar and lets see how you play the blues - your style off course. As you can see, we have all kind of sounds and players here, so it doesn't matter if you play HM or HC or Punk, or Rock, or Jazz, it all came from one music. Lets hear it at its best on the GMC
Get some pillows in front of the amp and mike it like that until you buy a stand.
Also (if you can please) keep me updated about other recording equipment you used and the recording process, I like commenting those too (off course constructively)

Here are my files. This site rocks. I love playing slow blues like this. It is a great way for a beginner to jam and actually learn some good licks.
I just recorded something I'm fairly happy with - but it's on the toneport. I can't fire up the amp right now - too late at night So I'll jam some more tomorrow, and then record it again through my amp.
Awesome backing track!
Thanks m8,
regarding your amp... put the amp in the smaller room if you can and wire it. You can put it in the bigger room, it is not a problem, but smaller one creates little reverb, and off course, you need to be dry because of the later production process.
Also put some blankets around the amp, or cover it, this will definately get rid some of the reverberation.
What do you mean by "wire it"?
Mike it, i said wire it instead, sorry for the confusion
Hey Ivan. Nice backing track. I didn't even notice that this one was open to the public until 30 minutes ago. Had a great time playing this one. Happy new year.

If the collab is going to be open til the 12th still, I won't be able to record the amp til next week sometime most likely However, since I already recorded something, what I'll do is post that now and if you want to change the end date thats fine. If not I'll try to get something in and then we can compare my tone
This was my third improv last night and if I were to record it again it'd probably just be more or less the same just mic'd instead.
Okay guys, thanks a lot for participation, going to sleep now lot of work today
@preownedguitar
sure its open man, I'll keep it open for a week or son, and then the final mix.
@JVM
Don't worry man, you did great, relax, and try to record it if not, we will prolong the deadline - no rush
Once again I invite ALL GMC MEMBERS to do a small contribution to this great blues collab.
Great backing track. This is my first post and also first collab.
I messed up on a few parts, but I like this take too much to worry about doing it again.
Here is my take ... only been playing guitar for 11 weeks, so dont get scared now

I just figured out that the Bm pentatonic scale works as well.
Bminot pentatonic has the same notes as the Dmajor pentatonic, so you're spot on! I would love to see some solos including major and minor scales mixed together, because I think this is one of the main ingredients of the Blues. I wrote this on my oppening post in the topic
Great recordings so far guys. I've decided to do mu own recording in the end too, so we can comment each other.
Collab is still open!
Here's my take Ivan.
Just changed strings,B might be a little low but nothing to kill hearing I hope.

Hi guys, just a question:
Until when are the collabs usually open?
Thanks
This one is until 8th January I think
It says in my signature for my collabs, but I think everybody put the deadline on the topic about the collab if they have one.
Great take Muris as always. I can almost smell the power behind the fingers, thanks again for participating.
Hi all,
This is my first collab and it's by no means even close to what has been added so far, but it's my best and here it goes
I hope you find at least one lick that you may enjoy!
Thank you very much for participating man Really good effort!
I'll try to get something done but I'll asure you. It'll sound like ¨*****
DO it m8, we are here for the fun of it.
how long has this collab got to go?
open till the 12th Jan I think mate, its on Ivans sig
Ok guys, I'm doing the final mix tomorrow. If you wanna try some recordings today do it
Hi dear GMC Friends,
my first post on the forum and because I desperatly love the blues I couldn't pass on this one.
Here's my try on the track - ... let me know what you think.
All the best and rock on
Cheers
Horst
This is great man, I'll except the recording although the collab is closed BUT you must send me solo guitar recording too in order for me to mix it properly. Can you do that?
NO MORE UPLOADS PLEASE. MORE BLUES COLLABS SOON!
FINAL MIX TONIGHT!
i cant wait!
Its a classic I-IV-V progression, so D7 - E7 - F#7. Have fun!
No problem, glad to help
