Hey guys! Do you like Power Metal?? I've been a great fan of this style and some of my favourite bands are Helloween, Blind Guardian, Angra, Stratovarius and Edguy.

What are your favorite old and new bands of this genre?

Hey Gabriel! I don't really listen too much to this kind of metal , but i can't say that i don't like it. I really enjoy listening to Hammerfall and Dionysus!
One of my favorite songs is I want out by Helloween, but i think that song is not that power metal.
I'll try to pay more attention to this kind of bands. I hope I'll found some good power metal bands in this topic!
Thank you Gabriel for the topic and I'll check out the bands that you mentioned above biggrin.gif

I love Power Metal; Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Metalium, Angra, Stratovarius, Grave Digger, So many good bands. It was the first genre of Metal I really delved into at an early age, and there are so many amazing musicians within it.

I thought Rocket Ride was a great album from Edguy.. excellent title track too ! cool.gif

I remember hearing Helloween years ago before I knew who they were and thinking that Michael Kiske sounded like Pinky from the cartoon 'Pinky & The Brain' !! Still thought they were great but I couldn't help but notice... laugh.gif

Not too much into this kind of stuff, actually not at all, but I love Kiko Loureriro's (Angra) guitar playing - very versatile indeed! I used to listen to a lot of Helloween when I was 12-13 years old, somehow I can still remember almost all the lyrics and guitar parts biggrin.gif strange ain't it?

Hammerfall was many years in my heart man,

there's a Finland ( I think) band called " Insania stockholm" the singer is not my favourite but the solos are very very funny to play, very catchy.

Nowadays i don't hear these kind of music, it seems all the same to me, I'd rather prefer hard rock / modern metal
