Yeah, saw that a long time ago on MAB's official site! Cool piece! And also found same piece, yesterday on YouTube where he's actually playing it in some clinic! Awesome!

Skilled. But rediculously over the top and a bit boring (IMO), I just found it daft. laugh.gif

Posted by: Pavel Aug 21 2007, 01:41 AM

It's boring if you don't like shred! I like his music! smile.gif

Posted by: Owen Aug 21 2007, 02:46 AM

Suppose even if you dont like his music you've got to love that hair laugh.gif

Posted by: The Uncreator Aug 21 2007, 04:14 AM

Posted by: Pavel Aug 21 2007, 04:15 AM

Batios Music > Breathing

Everytime i see someone say they dont like a guitarist because he's over the top or sherds it confuses me. tongue.gif I mean i understand maybe a rythem player for example not liking lead guitarist but i cant understand someone not respecting them for the insane amount of talent they have or respecting them as a musician.I cant find somebody that can play stuff that less than a handful of other people all over the world can play boring.

Sometimes i think some of the people that say they dont like these guitar hero's or say there boring just say that because they know there is no way they could ever acomplish something at that level.Thats no disrespect from me to any person that feels opposite or anyone on gmc for that matter so dont take it that way.Its just my opinion and can see how someone would say they dont like it but to say boring just shocks me. ohmy.gif

I agree here too. He is definately very talented and has alot of skill. But i find his music sometimes boring; of course, i like some if his pieces, and just watching him play its a form of inspiration, and i guess thats important. But again, its kinda boring IMO.

lol, laugh.gif , yeah his hair is very funny, and the faces he does when he plays uber fast and plays and changes his arm over and under the guitar. laugh.gif

Posted by: Pavel Aug 23 2007, 07:27 AM

i still like his music! It all depends on your taste! smile.gif

Posted by: The Uncreator Aug 23 2007, 07:42 AM

Batio is amazing, Rainforest is still one of my favorite instrumentals ever, its just beautiful.

Posted by: JOhn Aug 27 2007, 07:31 AM

his music is awesome and i love his hair laugh.gif

Posted by: Asphyxia Feeling Sep 3 2007, 01:59 PM

i've only heard a few of his songs... i enjoyed rainforest, but the other songs i heard didn't sound very good to me. showing off your skills, then turning it into a song < making a song that showcases your skills.

Its just a matter of taste shredman, lots of guitar players like something more meaningful, and emotional. And this piece isn't emotional at all. I for one am not a fan of shred at all because of the lack of emotion. Shred has actually been throwing me off from metal for a while as well cause all the metal guys do is shred (with some exceptions) But I must say this guy is probably one of the best shredders i've seen, and I think this guy spends to much time on his stage moves, lol but it looks kool though

Anyone who likes watchin Batio at top form should get his new performance DVD, "Hands Without Shadows Vol. 1". High quality audio / video, simple but exciting camera angles that allow you to see his technique as if you were standing two feet away from him, and best of all - the music! Michael mostly plays some "rock" material from his new album, as well as an acoustic arrangement, some old blues-meets-neo-classical favorites, and the Double Guitar Solo. He also introduces each track, which is really cool because Michael is such a fun and interesting guy, and his personality is in total contrast to his over-the-top (no pun intended) music and technique.

Also, check out his new sig Dean:

And Dean double-guitar / quad:

Hey, what abou MAB's technique? how much do you think it takes to develop the Dual-guitar technique? Can you even buy one?... unsure.gif

Posted by: The Uncreator Sep 8 2007, 07:20 AM

Yes you can!

Even a Quad you can buy i heard through special order from Dean.

Michael was able to do that, and play left and right handed because he played piano as a child before he played guitar, so he already had control over both hands.

Hes naturally left, but he learned right becuase i think his dad couldnt afford a left handed guitar when he was a kid.

I heard this in an interview, he said something along those lines

Posted by: Pavel Sep 8 2007, 07:59 AM

God..but what about all that string noise when you are using the Double-guitar with only the fretting hands? is that why he has a thing attached near the nut?
