Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: BB King Style 8 Bar Blues by Ivan Milenkovic

Hello everybody, playing Solo is very hard for me, I need a lot of time for practising. At the end I have made so many recording attempts and can’t decide whats good or not. Here I need your assessment. Thanks Volker

Hello Volker!

For a guy who feels like he has trouble soloing, I think you did a pretty good job here. You are definitely on the right track!

I think you should focus a bit on the articulation elements - vibrato and bending,in order to smooth them out and reach the desired pitches smile.gif You can even play along with the original recording, in order to make sure that you reach the intended pitches - deal?

Cosmin

We've been through this many times and I'll just repeat the punchline. Even though there is not much notes, the main challenge in blues is a ton of hidden details - vibrato speed and depth, prebends etc. There is a lot of this and it's much harder to reproduce all those from the original lesson. It always take some time so don't be too cruel for yourself smile.gif I see Your'e very concious of Your mistakes so I see no need to point them now. As You already figured out - You just need a bit more practice or...try to find the way to feel more relaxed in front of the cam. Sometimes there is the problem smile.gif Good work smile.gif

Hi friend! That's not a bad take! You have a good timing and you've already learnt each phrase. Now it's time to give the overall tune more expression. As the other instructors said, the secret here is focusing on details, improving your bending and vibrato techniques. I can notice that you are not still 100% comfortable with bending technique. I recommend you to continue working on this lesson and have a look at these ones:

That's all! Keep on the hard work! smile.gif
