I have a set of Evolution in my Ibanez and they sound teriffic, just teriffic. Very fat sound and with plenty of clarity.
I like my pickups to match but there's no rule here, if having two with compleyely different charateristics might not be useful in a song or during a gig since you wouldn't want to shock the audience too much. But if it works for you and you see a good reason for use, then of course it's fine. I once had a terrible mix. A DiMarzio Super distortion in the bridge and a Breed in the neck, both good pickups on their own but as a mix it was terrible. Using one for rhythm and the other for solo in a song was useless. So I suggest to find a pair that will work good with eachother soundwise. -------------------- My bands homepage

I've also changed the bridge pickup of my Ibanez S470 to a DiMarzio Evolution.
Wrote a Blogpost about it, including some hints on how to install them: http://29a.ch/2008/12/25/dimarzio-evolutio...-in-ibanez-s470 -------------------- My Website | My Gear | Elixir Nanoweb Strings Review | Installing Schaller Security Locks

Thank you for the information. I have never changed pickups before, so I might take it to a shop to get them installed.

Thank you for the information. I have never changed pickups before, so I might take it to a shop to get them installed. It's not that hard to do. The hardest thing is the soldering and getting the wires right. and for the wires you can consult my blog post
