Here is a quick vid (Just one setting shown on overdrive, all the way up) using the minature MOJO DIAMOND amp by Hotone Audio with and without an KRANK overdrive. I'm using my trusty Randall 4x12 with stock Jaguar speakers and a shure SM57 to mic it.

The overdrive is aggressive as OD pedals go. It's a KRANK, so yeah. smile.gif The little hotone audio amp is pretty spiff. It will do a great clean tone. But not in this vid. I"ve got the gain maxed to give it a soft, overdriven vibe until the krank pedal kicks in and then it's pretty much METAL smile.gif By turning off the pedal and turning down the volume on the guitar, you could pull a GABRIEL sort of thing and get from clean to crunch to lead just using this little amp and an overdrive.

I"ll make a longer vid showing the KRANK on the clean sound with the amp to show that it's not really very "drivey" by itself. But with a tiny bit of help from gain on the mojo, it goes nuclear. smile.gif

For contrast, here is Jim Root with several thousand dollars worth of Orange Gear. I"m an Orange fan to be honest, and a Jim Root fan. However, I'm used to hearing him mixed with the band. By himself, in many of the vids I've found his tone sounds a bit too fizzy. Actually, way to fizzy and not very tight. Almost flubby on low strings. Compared to the couple hundred bux worth of gear I"m using in the above vid, I really expected better tone. I"m sure there are a thousand reasons it could sound this bad. But here it is for reference.
