To me this is a pretty relevant question - not only do we have a killer vintage rock lesson today by Piotr - but we also have a dedicated lesson category for it (check it here)

I am suspecting we will see different answers from different age groups, or it could just be me that's getting bald. ph34r.gif

Well, I would have to say that vintage rock refers to rock produced in the 70's. My father would probably disagree! And my nephew would have a different opinion. I think of Zeppelin, The Who, The Doors, Lynard Skynard...those to me are vintage bands.

i think vitange rock are these bands from the 70's 80's who have mix of blues licks over epic simple riff like deep purple zeppelin

It's a proven fact that guitar faces have a bigger impact on tone than wood does.

I'd have to agree as well. Vintage Rock makes me think of 70s Rock or "Classic Rock" as it's sometimes called. 80's rock is often called "80's Metal" as so much Rock was Metal influenced in the 80's (but not all of course). 60's music seems like it's also it's own Genre and 50's and before would probably fall under "Oldies".
