Hi GMC,

Does anyone played on or owns one of these and can give me some information on this Vox amp its a Vox AD 100 VTH Valvetronics i have read some revieuws about you know how some say it's a good amp, some say it's the best amp ever and then there are the people saying it sucks wink.gif. The closest decent music shop does not sell this amp model so i hoped to get some reliable information here.

This is the one:

Thx for the assistance

I would tend to believe the "it's great" reviews. I don't own that particular Vox, but I'm very happy with the one I do own, and I've heard nothing but good things about the Valvetronics amps.

I've played only smalle 50W combo version, and it is decent sounding for a modelling hybrid. I expect the same sound, only more louder and with more punch. Good for gigs and rehearsals definitely. Little heavy and loud tho.

I havent had the chance to try out the AD100VTH head yet, but I have a VOX AD50VT-212 combo amp that i just bought from audiopaal and i think it's a wonderful amp.

The high-gain sounds dont quite live up to my Marshall JMP-1, but the clean and crunchy sounds (which is what i intended to use it for) are really good and i prefer them to what my Marshall gives.
But dont get me wrong, the Vox AD has got good high-gain/metal sounds, but i prefer Marshall for this.

I've tried that exact model in the store and it's great smile.gif

I used to own Trond Volds Vox amp, the same model only 50W Combo and that's awesome too smile.gif

Well i'm sure my Boss Metal zone pedal will provide me with a good metal sound if the metal sound on the amp is not to my liking but i'm sure it wil be wink.gif

I own a similar model and have played it and its good for your very first or second amp. BUT its not real tube and i found that the different amp "models" don't come anywhere close to the bliss of a real tube marshall, or mesa/boogie amp. For the money you can do much better. Id rather have a Peavey Valveking or Peavey Windsor over this.

I agree, I have a smaller combo of the valvetronics and it's good for a practice amp, but at the price range for the head and cab I think you can get a nicer pure tube combo or tube half stack and then put your pedals in front of that

The Peavey Valveking is an excellent all Tube amp, I would recommend trying it at least before you buy the vox smile.gif
