I'm asking for recommendations on a good pair of headphones. I'm looking for a set of headphones that keeps the sound in and limits the amount of sound others in the room can hear. Does that make sense?

My wife and I share a home office and sometimes when I want to practice I need to use the headset because she's working. But she has commented several times about hearing what I'm playing through the headphones. I've even lowered the volume but sound still leaks out.

My current set is a Yamaha RH-5Ma.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You're looking for some closed headphones then smile.gif

I got a pair of Sennheiser HD280 Pro for christmas and they're really great! They're made to shut noise from your surroundings out and keep everything the headphones emits in..

The sound quality is overall great whether you listen to music or plug them into your amp (but keep in mind, since its headphones, its nothing compared to some nice 12" speakers hehe), only problem is they can get really bass'y due to the "closed environment" smile.gif

Fortunately they're not too expensive, around 150USD here in Denmark. Go try them out :]

Cheers!

Both AKG and Sennheiser are great! But I would recommend Beyerdynamic DT-150 (or DT-250).

1+ Sennheiser , a have a similar open model and they are great..They are great for practicing and also for listening to music etc...Don't know how studio monitoring headphones work for just listening music on your Hi-Fi..
