Check for a note somewhere on the back. If it was ever in for repair they shoud have put a sticker there saying which date the tubes where changed.
I think it's safe to say that you will hear when the tubes run out. Fuses can blow, sound can get bad or bi-sounds so to say. -------------------- My bands homepage

Fuses can blow Anything dangerous? Never saw the tube blowing, but i saw one that was close to it. While i was recording a demo with my ex-band i borrowed a Fender Deluxe amp from another guitarist and when we turned it on - the tubes had really strange color and the sound was fuzzy. I hope it's not a big deal when the tubes blow -------------------- "It isn't how many years you have been playing, it's how many hours." -- Prashant Aswani "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!" -- Michael Angelo Batio Check out my video lessons and instructor board! |

I hope it's not a big deal when the tubes blow I meant the fuse - which is not dangerous. If a power tube gets worn and starts over using current a fuse should blow first before anything else happens. My Peavey is having a constant low buzz right now and I belive it's the power tubes so I will change them sometime early next yeay... I'm getting that meter so I may do it myself this time. It's a first for me. This post has been edited by MickeM: Dec 16 2007, 01:17 AM -------------------- My bands homepage
