I had a message through during the summer from the guys that were organising the Andy Timmons clinic and workshop down in Plymouth in September.
I couldn't make it but they let me know that that they will be getting Paul Gilbert, Vinnie Moore and Greg Howe in 2012 with a possible return visit of Guthrie and Andy. Have you been to any and what are they like. My main motivation in getting my technique up to scratch is to go to the Paul Gilbert one, it would be a complete waste at my current level. Here's the link http://www.worldclassmusic.co.uk/Home.html I haven't ever been to one myself but I would definitely do it, especially if you had the chance to get some wisdom straight from Paul Gilbert himself. They take questions at these things so regardless of ability, you can ask him about the right way to delve into developing your picking technique. If you haven't spent years buidling up bad habits then Paul would be able to give you some real good advice. Do it !  Oh and btw, don't think for a minute that everyone else going there is going to be a shredmaster, loads of them won't even be guitarists at all !

Plymouth is my city of birth (fortunately I lost the accent) and my parents live about an hour away, so it'll be quite handy to fly over to see them and then run off!
