Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

I can see a very notable progress comparing this one with your previous take. I'm sure that you've worked hard to make that fast section sound tighter as it's today. Congratulations friend!! As I've commented on Anvil Style lesson, there is some little room to make everything sound tighter, mostly in the slower sections, and also to improve tone (by picking stronger and adjusting your palm muting) and dynamics. I would also try setting your amp with a bit less distortion to clean up the sound. This is related a bit to what I've commented at the "new guitar" thread. You are making good use of your entire left hand here including using your PINKY! Also, good tight vibrato is in full effect and the chord bend at the end is impressive as well. Your hand synch is much improved and I can tell you are experimenting with your palm muting dynamics (lifting vs muting) which is a good way to add dynamics to a section. Experiment more with this. Lifting during a mute riff opens up the sound of the riff where muting tightens it down. As for tone, it sounds like EMG pickups. Just no way around it as they sound a very specific way. You can sometimes get a more articulate tone out of passive pups and still have them sound quite heavy. Most of the tone really does come from your fingers, more so than many people realize. Explore creating variety in your tone with pick instensity and muting intensity. It can lead to a very dynamic performance. As for this one, I think you have it Solid 7 from me. It's clearly visible you keep yourself in control of everything...trying to have no unwanted noise and even tone of each strum. The tone is just fine. The more pro tightness is more a playing thing and wisely suggested gain take down...just a little. EMG's are totally fine for this playing. I like them myslef. I would complain on different kind of playing but definitely not on this one - here is where they've been created to work great. You managed to make fast part sound day to night difference comparing to take no#1 but you are still not necessary using the exact same mechanics of right hand, I was using in original take. Yes - it's not a tensed forearm motion anymore but still it's not a totally relaxed wrist rotation. try to take a very close look at all my hand angles and resting point in this part. This actually shoudl be a piece of cake to play...it has been designed to sound powerfull but easy to execute. Try to copy exact mechanics to get main profit of this part.
