Hey guys!! I started a topic some time ago called "What band/ Player isn't Covered at GMC?", and it has been a very useful requests topic for us. Now the question is what techniques or topics do you think that should be more covered at the site?

Thanks in advance for the requests! wink.gif

hmm.. I know this sounds kinda weird, being a guitar lesson site and all, but if any of the instructor's are good at mixing/mastering, I think it would be an awesome lesson wink.gif

That's not weird man! Thanks for the request. Are you following Tony Miro's threads?

Another weird one, Gabriel. It is not a technique but what about a series on how to use pedals, maybe I can get my delay sounds like the Edge's one.

He uses quite a bit of gear for his tone. Here is an older pic of his rig. But what pedal of his are you trying to emulate? Delay? I do like the idea of maybe having tutorials about guitar "related" stuff as well as directly about guitar stuff smile.gif Mixing, mastering, pedals, etc.

Hey Carmine

One of his most famous used delay sounds is a dotted 8th going into a 1/4 note delay

Hi Gabriel,

A lesson about configuring effects. Like keeping a good sustain. I have a digitect effect RP155. With all the stuff in it like sustain and delay, distortion. But I can't seem to keep the tones sounding good for longer than a few seconds. Then the tone dies on me.

So a lesson about pedals and effects sounds good too mee biggrin.gif

That's right, posterboy. But playing his rhythm with these settings is the trouble for me

Maybe something about chord progressions? But in 'composing backing tracks for metal solos' contex.

We could:

- take a look from some famous guitarist perspective (like, this guy uses X X X progression often etc.)
- learn some general rules and tricks (like for example "over this degree of harmonic minor scale play diminished arpeggios")
- learn how to change degrees of scales to achieve specific sound etc (for example to add some exotic sound to our solo)
- and, above all, learn how to compose more interesting solos smile.gif

What do you think? smile.gif
