This looks beautiful man! I would take it for a spin at the luthier for two things: - a setup based on the string gauge of your choice - replacing the nut with a bone one - this is more of a personal choice, but I did this with both my SEs - I felt an increase in sustain, if you were wondering about the reason That's a great idea Cosmin - I had not thought about that. I will take to the luthier for the first string change, we've already talked, but he had mentioned a "Roller Nut", I had never heard of one... http://www.allparts.com/099-0812-000-Fende...r-Nut_p_97.html At the time I had pondered the idea of sinking a Floyd Rose in it, but I like the tremolos on these things, he suggested the change to locking tuners, and the roller nut, and if I wanted a D-Tuner, to go with a low E Machine, but if there is no locking nut, there's no need for a D-Tuner. When I asked him about the roller nut he said, "Each string rests on two ball bearings that eliminate friction. As the string stretches back and forth it can’t bind in the nut." What do you think? Are you guys familiar with the Tremel-No?
It's not just for Floyds, but it allows you to lock the trem in place (almost like turning it on or off), so if you want to bend without going out of tune, you can, or even keep playing if you break a string. http://www.tremol-no.com/ This post has been edited by Hexabuzz: May 4 2014, 03:50 PM |
