Het robin, quick way to make it alphabetical is to jus use Microsoft Word, so just copy and paste the list into word, and you can highlight it and sort it alphabetically, so you dont have to do it on your own.

Here Robin http://www.softplatz.com/Soft/Utilities/File-Disk/Sort-Text-Lists-Alphabetically-Software.html

Just copy+paste your list into that, sort, copy and paste back on here! It is free but you can't save your list as a file, but you can paste into wordpad and save that way, if you need to save it... Should save you some time anyway.

As an aside - sorry Robin - Always tend to think Gong can be very variable depending on whose playing and what state they are in. Remember seeing Pierre Moerlen's Gong (with I think Holdsworh on guitar) at Glastonbury years ago - great set. Once opened for them/Here and Now (as Gillie Smyth had recalled them) at a festival. Steffy Sharpstrings (guitar player in here and now) was great but Mark Perry and Gillie were out of it on the evening gig.

Cheers,
Tony

Oh and yes you are right, I must have missed your post somehow, I'll add it right away, sorry!

Posted by: tonymiro Oct 5 2007, 07:50 PM

There is a guitar player (and singer songwriter) called John Mayer - he's been Grammy nominated a few times and does play blues.

Cheers,
Tony

Posted by: Robin Oct 5 2007, 07:51 PM

Btw, does Chuck Berry qualify as blues? I thought he was the first rock'n'roller smile.gif

Posted by: Hemlok Oct 5 2007, 07:51 PM

Oh see ive gone and mixed John Mayall with John Mayer, i dont know who Mayer is tongue.gif

Thanks Robin

Posted by: tonymiro Oct 5 2007, 08:19 PM

I've never heard Mayer - only know of him because my wife 'likes' him ('likes' in the sense that she thinks he's cute rolleyes.gif .)

Tony

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6sPmTgPvx28 Here is John Mayer.

I LOVE the soloing he does in the start, but when he starts the song it start sucking imo.

Edit: never mind, it seems like the song was cut away from this video.

Posted by: Rob_g Oct 6 2007, 04:32 AM

some might know John Mayer from his solo career. (mostly acoustic) But in 2005 he joined a trio and decided to change his direction in music. Hes also got a wicked live album called try that i would recommend

I have been lazy with this list lately. I will add more youtube links on Thursday.

Everyone feel free to add more bands and artists to the list and/or give me youtube links for some of the bands and artists already on the list, thanks.

Btw I'm also thinking about making a list with folk music from all around the world. The only problem is that I only know about norwegian and irish folk, so I hope you guys know more than me biggrin.gif What does everyone think about it?
