Gotta admit, this looks good !

I'd never really been too interested in James Bond films until I saw the Daniel Craig ones because they're a bit more gritty and darker.

I'm interested to know, do the James Bond films have interest in other countries or is it mainly a British thing ?

I remember seeing all James Bond films when I was a child, I had them in Beta biggrin.gif . For me Sean Connery and Roger Moore are there real Jame Bonds, I lost interest whith the newer ones.

James Bond is famous all over the World, at least, it's very famous here in Spain tongue.gif

You mean these ?? biggrin.gif

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betamax

I never experienced those myself but when I was a kid I did accidentally buy about 3 Rocky films once at a second hand car-boot sale, thinking they were VHS... they must have known I was too young and wouldn't have had a Betamax player but they were happy to take my money... dry.gif

I love Bond movies. I started watching when I was a really young boy, like 7 or 8 and Dad took me and my brother (who was 5or 6 at the time laugh.gif ) to watch Die Another Day. I really love action stuff biggrin.gif

So, for me the real James Bond is that one. Pierce Brosnan. And I watched the older ones too, Golden Eye, Tomorrow Never Dies smile.gif

I like Daniel Craig, but the older one is the real Bond for me tongue.gif

So, yes, I love Bond films smile.gif Don't know much about others in India, but I think its semi-popular. smile.gif

Oh, this one looks better than the last two. cool.gif

I like Brosnan too smile.gif

I think the older guys like Connery, Moore and Dalton were maybe better at the seduction and chat up lines but the recent guys are better for the action wink.gif

I've never seen the older ones, so can't comment on those guys tongue.gif But, Bond films are more for the ACTION, less for the seduction wink.gif What do you say ?

I agree. Let's keep the action and leave the romance for the Hugh Grant and Jennifer Anniston films !

I had to stop watching that trailer 'com they show too much blink.gif

But that new one is gonna wipe the floor with earlier Bond films.

I think I have seen them all. Sean Connery is the man obviously. Craig is one bad MFer and third is Brosnan.

I liked previous Craig film because it was really tense and fast.

Also I remember when the Golden Eye trailer showed up in cinema. White background, man walking and bang. I swore that all the people in there was like wtf. New Bond !! tongue.gif

I have seen all Bond movies, except the ones with Daniel Craig.
For no particular reason I must say, I was just not interested anymore. But I might give Skyfall a chance.
Did you hear the rumor that Bond gets killed in the movie? Seems unlikely. I mean, there's another movie out there at the moment where that rumor appeared beforehand tongue.gif

The "Bond" movies with Danial Craig are cool action movies but they arent James Bond movies in my opinion.

There is no charm no funny moments nor many girls wink.gif

Sean Connery and Roger Moore had the charm and coolness.
Pierce Brosnan was also a cool Bond guy.

Reading between the lines, I assume 'M' orders Bond to be shot so he's 'dead' and can operate freely with people thinking he's dead.

I can see why people think they've changed.. and they have. I do think it's better these days though because an agent who kills people in cold blood for his country would be more ruthless like Craig's Bond.

I am a HUGE Bond fan!!

For me Mr. Connery is the one true Bond and always will be. He was cool, suave and well yes very handsome smile.gif I like the other guys too... well expect maybe Lazanby... but they all had there niche. Daniel Craig is certainly more true to what Fleming wrote, and has done a great job, but for me it will be very hard to top Connery.

If the older bond movies were done today they'd have all the action blah blah as the newer movies but you have to take them for what they are imo (although for back in the day they were pretty action packed). Bond is a suave, charismatic spy with a bit of a playboy persona. He has lots of gadgets, wacky criminal masterminds and interesting ways to kill them. He was to kill his enemies and charm the ladies if need be (which apparently was all the time smile.gif ) all for the good of England and the world. He sorta had a cooler head and attitude and didn't seem so serious, like it was no biggy what he was doing. The newer Bond's and Bond movies have basically the same model but are a little more serious and intense. Plus they can get away with a lot more special effects, action, sex etc due to A) Budget - Today's budgets are crazy compared to what they had in the 60's70's and 80's. even with inflation I don't think they come close B ) censorship back then was pretty intense. You'd never be able to put what you can on film today. Even the Bond movies back in the day were considered pretty racy and were subject to huge penalties because of it. By todays standards they were pretty mild but back then people had never seen such things... thus way Eursela Andres's bikini scene was so scandalous. C) technology - of course the newer movies are gonna keep with the times or try to show more advanced weaponry etc. and D) we as an audience expect bigger and better each time out.

But back to Skyfall.... looks like it will be a great movie. The promo is already better than Quantum of Solace and Javier Bardem as a Bond bady is brilliant. Whenever he has crazy hair he becomes even creepier LOL!! Also like the addition of Ralph Finnes. Ill be seeing it for sure.

LOVE James Bond.

Seen every movie, at least 10 times.

Connery, and Moore like many, are my favorites. But I love Daniel Craig, he is a very subtle actor at times, small facial expressions and nuances that remind me of Connery slightly. I think the newer ones are more modernized for sure, but the writing and essential depth and style of characters is classic bond style. I loved Olga Kurylenko Quantum Of Solace too, Casino Royale with the bottomless chair scene...(Ouch, but still hilarious the way Craig acts it out as typical cocky bond! smile.gif )
