Hi Marcus, just a quick question about the last solo in the soul to the world lesson. At the start you do something like:

E----------------------------14-15-12--
B-------/17b---15---------------------- etc
G--------------------19~---------------

15th fret on the B string and 19th fret on the G are both the same notes, a D. So what is the point in doing that? Why not go

B----/17b---15--15~ ?

or

B---/17b------------
G-----------19--19~ ?

I'm sure there must be a reason to you doing this but i can't figure it out

Hey Steve!

That's right! It is the same note, but played on different strings.
However, the note doesn't sound exactly the same. And to my ears this way just sound better, in this case.

I use this type of playing a lot, and I think it sounds really cool smile.gif
Try it and see if you like it, otherwise it's perfectly ok to play the notes on the same string.
