I've found these news saying that Aerosmith could be thinking on a replace for Steven Tyler...
I can't imagine this band without Steve, can you?
This is a list of possible singers:
Myles Kennedy
Chris Cornell
Axl Rose
Paul Rodgers
Billy Idol

What do you think?
Myles -> Slash & others
Axl -> AC/DC & Guns
Chris Cornell ?
Laurent
If they are going to be playing aerosmith songs then it would need someone like Cornell. what they should do though is get Paul Rodgers and do new or non-aerosmith songs, that would be great*
*except sweet emotion... paul rodgers doing that would be good
**paul rodgers doing 'dude looks like a lady' would kill me a little inside
I suspect they'll turn it into a television audition show like Rock Star Supernova
I agree with Bleez, you need to imagine the replacement doing Dude Just Like A Lady and Love In An Elevator, I really can't see Paul Rodgers doing that without cringing. Maybe David Lee Roth could work it.
hehehe interesting replies here... from my point of view, I think that they shouldn't replace Steven, but if they would do it, I prefer some kind of reality to find a talented unknown singer who can replace it with his own personality but that can also sing like him.
Guys, please.... There's no replacement possible for Steven in Aerosmith! Steven IS Aerosmith
There's no replacement possible for Brian Johnson in ACDC (although I have a big heart for Axl)
There's no replacement for Bono in U2
There was no replacement for Freddy in Queen
These bands are too long in a state of "world dominating superband!!" If you change the front person, the magic stops !!!!!!!
ACDC did it when Bon died, but the band was still very young. But I mean, ... NOW.... replacing Mick in Rolling Stones or Steven in Aerosmith ????? Sorry but.... NO CAN DO !!!!!
Maybe Sebastian Bach
I have to agree with Nikeman and say that Tyler is Aerosmith and replacing him with anyone would be risky. On the other hand, Van Halen was extremely successful with Sammy Hagar replacing David Lee Roth. But then fell off when they replaced Sammy with Cherone from Extreme. I saw one of those shows, it sucked. And now Roth is back but the band still isn't anywhere near as popular as it was with Uncle Sammy.
I don't know that Tyler can be replaced and the band expect to keep the level of popularity that they have now but time will tell I guess.
I agree he would be hard to replace. I think the singer and the lead guitarist are the two main identities of a band. When Dio joined Sabbath, I loved the music but it was Dio not Sabbath, it was like listening to everything RJD did with Rainbow, and after Sabbath the Holy Diver and Last in Line was a continuation of that.
Personally I loved Sammy era VH but it still didn't have the cheekyness of the Lee Roth first era imho.
