Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hola coffeeman! The take is building up nicely, so congrats to you! Now, to get it as close to perfection as possible, I would recommend working on articulation and timing a tad more!

Keep up the good work man!

Cosmin

Hey friend! You did a good job on this difficult lesson! There are some things to work on this one but the most important is your timing. There fastest part sound different to the original so check the figures of those licks. It seems that the guitar is a bit out of tune but maybe it's a problem of calibration or old strings. Check it out.

Senor Coffee ! As always, I am impressed with your vibrato and feel. Some suggestions would be to:

Slow those fast licks down until both hands are happy with what they've got to do because it sounds as if neither one is comfortable with what's going on. When your fretting hand knows exactly where it's going, then the picking hand can follow smile.gif

The other thing is that I would like to help you work on making your phrases sound smoother. Sometimes they sound very 'chopped off' so try to work on your fretting hand shifting.. try to time it so you pick the string exactly when your fingers slide to the next fret. I think most of the 'choppy' effect is due to your fretting hand not sliding to the next notes.. it frets the notes and then maybe lifts off slightly before fretting the next one. By reducing this, you have a better chance of getting that smooth feel smile.gif

I would say it's pretty good, at first it gave me a great impression. In the second half the bends start to sound a bit sharp, and that was the main problem on your other take as well. So focus on listening to your bends and vibrato so that they sound really in tune, it's really a minor tweak you must, don't worry too much.

Good take, some great moments in it, nice smooth tone on the strat, and cool vibe you have there. There are some problems in the solo, like the moment on 0.10, it's very sloppy. You should concentrate more on those problematic parts when rehearsing the lesson.
