Thank you a lot for the comments Gab!
There is a part 7 on the acoustic solo as well which I will begin with smile.gif

Regarding new lessons, I have taken a look but I can't find many level 2-3 acoustic melody/solo lessons.
I found this one but it seems above my level https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Nylon-Jam-lesson/
Do you have any suggestions?

Here is a new take for Happy Birthday. Sorry about the bad camera angle.

I have not checked a tab, am I playing the correct notes now?

The reason why it took a while to figure it out was because the first note is a G so I expected the scale to be G Major.
Which was not the case smile.gif The scale is C Major.

Yes! Now you are playing the right notes! Knowing the scale can make the things easier.

You are ready to continue with the next melody. Well done!

That is a really cool lesson, I like it a lot smile.gif Let's go for it!

Yes, the right scale helps. From what I know, you need to know all notes in a melody in order to find the right scale.
Thanks, the ear training is a lot of fun and I enjoy the challenge of figuring out stuff by ear.

Cool! Notice that the lesson uses a different tuning. It's drop D.

Hi Gab,

I recorded a take for Goo Goo Dolls at 80 BPM now.
The last take was at 70 BPM since I struggled with the D/A chord.
Tell me what you think about it smile.gif

Enjoy your weekend mate and have a great time!

Edit: For my Ear Training, I recorded a take for Twinkle Twinkle Little Star which I have learned by ear. It was quite easy to learn and didn't take much time to learn it actually, so I will try to find a harder one next time. Does it sound correct?

Thanks a lot for the feedback and for the clarification regarding the chord.
I am working on Part 6 and 7 for Goo Goo Dolls now and have started to learn O Come All Ye Faithful by ear, Slightly tricky but its fun smile.gif
And I really enjoy seeing my progress and the help and support I get from you smile.gif
There will be a video for Acoustic solo in a few days.

Thanks smile.gif

Here is a new take for the Acoustic Solo, the first video containing all parts.
I think the timing issues in the beginning which you mentioned last time should be better now.
I have mainly been focusing on timing lately, so the biggest difference that I notice between my take and Liam's is vibrato.
Do you see any other differences that I need to polish?

Also I am going to be pretty busy the coming 2 weeks, I will try to practice but do not expect any new videos from me smile.gif

Hi mate!! Congrats on your first complete take for this lesson!!

Besides the obvious timing issues that are not that big, I also notice the vibrato thing that you said, and this makes me think that we need to get into a vibrato lesson soon.

However, you also can make a small tweak in your playing that will help you to improve your vibrato and it's to use the other fingers 1 and 2 when finger 3 is pressing the fret, and fingers 1, 2 and 3 when finger 4 is doing the vibrato. In other words, you can use your other fingers to help the one that is pressing the fretboard to make your vibrato (and bending if it's needed much easier).

If you have some free time (maybe traveling), please watch this lesson where I explain these concepts: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Left-H...ending-Vibrato/

Hey, Thanks Gab!

I agree, I think it is needed to improve my vibrato. I think we can go for one soon. Maybe after this lesson is done?

That sounds great, I have heard that tip before but didn't remember it. I will try it out.

I have watched the lesson now, you explain it in a very good way smile.gif

Sure! It could be an electric guitar lesson, what do you think?

You won't be able to make it sound exactly as the lesson, but it will be a very good exercise.

Hello Gab,

How are you doing?
I am back from traveling now.
I did record one video for Acoustic Solo and one for the last parts of Goo Goo Dolls.

I tried to pay more attention to the vibrato. I notice timing mistakes at 6, 30 and 38 seconds.
I think the vibrato is pretty close to the original lesson now.

I think this take is pretty good. The D/F# is slightly difficult to change to. I think I can try to record a whole video of all parts of the Goo Goo Dolls and we can see what I need to work on.

What do you think? smile.gif

Also regarding the ear training. I am working on the song "O come all ye faithful" its a bit tricky, I think I have done just over 50% of it. So I hope to share a video in a few weeks.

Hi Gab smile.gif

Thanks for the response.
I will work on these things you mentioned.
It is nice to wrap up these lessons.
My inspiration has been a bit low the last days, I hope it comes back soon and that I am longing to play guitar again. I am going to think if there is any way I can do to become more motivated again smile.gif Maybe try jamming or composing something?

At the moment I am not working on any other lesson.
I think this lesson https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginn...ibrato-Workout/ is an excellent choice, the notes at the 15th and 17th fret will be very difficult to play on an acoustic guitar.

I found these lessons, maybe we could start working one of them as well
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/City-and-Colour-Style/
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-gu...rumming-lesson/
Or do you think I should wait and finish one lesson before starting with another rhythm lesson?

Hi Alex!

I think that City and Colour style is a good choice for you! Let's go for it.

And I also think that experimenting with some composition or improvisation can also be interesting.

What about composing some chord progressions and then jamming over them?

You can use this lessons to learn how to do it: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/lessonser...ing-Essentials/

And I can guide you here. smile.gif

Hi Gab!

Great, I will start working on that lesson.
Should I use Goo Goo Dolls and Acoustic Solo as warm up lessons and put most of the practicing into the Vibrato lesson and "City and Colour"?

YES! That sounds a like a lot of fun, I am excited to get started biggrin.gif
