GMC Forum _ Introduce Yourself ! _ I'm New

Posted by: hooihong Jun 15 2008, 11:28 AM

Hi there, my name is HH, I'm totally new to this website and new to play guitar. A lot of things will unknown, but I would like to learn until I can play a song name as Cannon Rock which played by JerryC. I've bought a guitar (Yamaha F310 Acoustic Guitar). Hope I can play that asap.

Anyway, hi to everyone and nice to meet you!

Hi, welcome to GMC!

I would suggest to try Ivan's pentatonic workshop level 1
http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guitar/pentatonic-workshop-level1-caged-format-timing-exercises/

You can practice each video up to the timing pattern you feel comfortable playing. Don't worry about the patterns you cannot play. Speed will come in time, and actually the 16th triplets pattern is quite fast and hard to execute...

Hi, man. There are some good lessons for acoustic as well.
Check out the lessons from Jerry Arcidiacono, Kosei Kubota, Vinod Saranga and so on.

It depends a little bit on what you want to learn first. Also keep in mind that some basic stuff, like theory or pentatonic scale are very useful both in acoustic or electric guitar.

Try it out to use the advanced search, and select the topic you want, like "strumming" and difficult level.
Doing that on level 2, for instance I found this,
http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/misc-lessons/open-chords-strumming/

And searching for canon, rolleyes.gif
