Hi guys.

I am about to buy a new guitar, but I am not sure of which I am going to buy.

I am playing rock and a some metal, so I would prefer a guitar which is made for that.

Which guitars can you recomend?

I have 650 to spend on the guitar.

Have a look at the Ibanez range mate, they seem to be the default guitar range for metal, Jackson also do some nifty stuff around that price point.

Is that 650 euros or USD? I agree with sted, getting a nice Ibanez or Jackson model is probably a good thing.

THe most important thing is to go to the store, and tryout as much guitars as possible - the more the better. When you do find a model that you like, you can post it here, and we can give you some opinion about it.

If you want rock and metal, I'd suggest many an esp h-1001? I always buy used guitar gear, you can get some awesome deals. You'll probably find one for 650 right about now with the economy being bad.

Of course, go to a store first and try guitars out. Then once you know what you want, get one used biggrin.gif

I would look at ESP and Schecters, they both have mid-priced guitars with nice finishes and good pickups, I would recommend getting a guitar with seymour duncans, they're pretty versatile for rock and metal, whereas EMGs are really more metal pickups.

How about a PRS SE? I played one in my local store and I liked the feel.

Here is an example, but there are some more in that price range:

They have good playability and 2 humbuckers. They sound great for rock, but I assume also for metal (maybe someone with more metal experience can elaborate on that). Not the most common guitar, but in my opinion worth considering.

I would have to say Jackson or Ibanez. Very reliable guitars as well us nice looking rolleyes.gif
Another "rock/metal" band I have noticed is Schecter. The C-1 series is just fantastic.

Personally I would try out a Jackson Dinky or Kelly as well as an Ibanez Iceman if you can find one.

Good luck.
