New Rock Guitar

I am playing rock and a some metal, so I would prefer a guitar which is made for that. Which guitars can you recomend? I have 650 to spend on the guitar. I agree with sted, getting a nice Ibanez or Jackson model is probably a good thing. THe most important thing is to go to the store, and tryout as much guitars as possible - the more the better. You'll probably find one for 650 right about now with the economy being bad. Of course, go to a store first and try guitars out. They sound great for rock, but I assume also for metal (maybe someone with more metal experience can elaborate on that). Not the most common guitar, but in my opinion worth considering. Very reliable guitars as well us nice looking Another "rock/metal" band I have noticed is Schecter. The C-1 series is just fantastic.
