So I played soccer for 15 years of my life, but past three years I was too busy doing whatever. Today I went for my first training. Felt wonderful to get my ass moving a little bit. As matter of fact after three minutes on the court I looked upon the nice, german, blue sky to receive a long curly ball.

Some smartass had the idea to pass another ball in parallel, which I of course did not see coming at all. It went "Boooom" and my hand just flipped over my wrist. And as god knows, it was the left hand. Bruised or sprained I am not sure yet.

Anything besides resting that I can do for quick recovery?

As said: we are not supposed to do anything in the free world with fresh air, sun or even other people - which is by far the worst tongue.gif

Cheers

Tim

I used to have training 5 days a week when I was 13. Barely did anything but play football. Then I got injured, snapped my cruciate ligament (ACL), had an 1-2 operations, depending on how you see it, didn't make a comeback till I was 21 or so just playing for a random club at low level, 3 weeks into training I snap my ACL again. 2 years and 2 operations later, I tried making a comeback with another club at the lowest league you can possibly play at. Then my left knee started causing trouble. Had my 5th operation all in all in my knees then. Still felt bad and I decided to stop playing some years ago.

Now I'm thinking about playing again, and I already started trying to get in shape, playing a few times a week by myself against a wall doing goalkeeper drills or with friends.

And yes, I was and still wanna be a goalkeeper when playing. Not good for the hands!

Crossing my fingers, that you'll survive your next comeback. Had my knee injured two times as well, but not too massive, so I was quite lucky to be able to play constantly for outmost of those 15 years.

Guys, if you don't call it soccer our friend in USA will get very confused biggrin.gif

I have to say soccer isn't a game for a guitar player, my luthier also injured his wrist and it took him a while before he could play guitar again. Tim; The wrist is one of the most complicated part of a human body, not feeling much pain may not mean it will heal easily by itself, have that checked by a doctor if possible.

Goddamn, but yeah, I assume I have to.

About wording: Actually I called it soccer, but still the tool you play with is a football, not a "soccerball", isn't it?

Next time I will try that other sport. The one that is always filled with virility, food & alcohol related commercials! ;-)

I broke 3 fingers playing 'american' football when I was a lad.

*We do call it a soccer ball here in the states.

You'd be surprised.
My kid only plays Soccer.
The LA Galaxy beat Juventus once about 5 years ago.
We're coming around.

Yah! I noticed the progress. Actually american soccer clubs seem to raise budgets as well.

still not comparable to NFL / NBA at all, but we'll see what the future brings smile.gif

Especially with all the permanent brain damage done by playing American football, Soccer is def becoming a 'thing' here.

i used to play Rugby Union from the age of about 12 through to 22 or 23. I had to stop playing when I had a cartilage replacement Operation in my left knee and not long after I had a Motorcycle accident and badly damaged my right knee, requiring 45 sub-dermal stitches to hold it back together again.
Didn't stop me playing Guitar though, which was lucky!!
