Hi all you guitar fanatics. I'm Steve from Ontario, Canada. Seeing I have 5 kids, and 5 Grandkids, I'm used to being called Grampa. What are you gonna do? I am 54!
I first discovered the guitar back in the 60's at the age of 12. Friends taught me a few chords, and in no time at all, it seemed I was strumming up a storm. You could really play a bunch of stuff if you knew G, Em, C and D7. My greatest dream was to master Chuck Berry's lead work in Johnny B. Goode. It still is!
There's only so far you can go with Last Kiss and House Of The Rising Sun. 40 some years have passed. Somewhere along the way, I got so busy with raising a Family and trying to feed them. Now that I have had 4 heart attacks, it's about time I got up off my ass and learn something new.
So here I am, sleeves rolled up and ready to go to work. Let's see if you kids can keep up with the old man.
Hi Grampa.
I'm 48 myself and there is some more here around the 50.
That "Raising my family" stuff really messes up your plans but it's never to late they say.
Welcome!
Welcome grampa Dont worry, you're not the only old guy here on GMC
Welcome GrampaSteve! Now... let's rock!
Welcome Grandpa Steve from a young whippersnapper of 40!
We covered Johnny B Good once, and the lead is harder than it looks to play well Good luck!
Its REALLY great to have older members, make GMC feel more complete somehow!
Hi Steve!
Good luck with the guitar playing, bet you will learn alot here at this awsome site!
Will be fun for the kids to see grampa rocking (the guitar, not the chair ) his mind out!!
