Recently I've been playing blues on Pandora while I do work around the house, and twice I've had to stop what I was doing to see who was rocking the sound system. Both times it was Ronnie Earl, whom I've never heard of before. So I checked him out and he's got a pretty interesting history. Whats interesting is the fact that he became a guitarist in adulthood, and not during his teen years, like 99.99% of all guitarists. This is really inspiring because it dispels the age old belief that in order to become a great musician, you have to start from a young age. Check him out, he's got some bad ass licks.
