Botox is of course referring to the animal related to donkeys and mules rather then his bottom Muris. Bit like when fkalich recorded his XMas medley with his cats smile.gif . At least I think he is unsure.gif wink.gif .

Cheers,
Tony

If you look carefully it's one that Muris very kindly sent to him. Botox's ass can shred with the best of them smile.gif .

Hmm, for now, my GT-8, as it's the only effects I have! laugh.gif

Actually, this reminds me of something, I'm planning on turning to analog pedals/effects once I have a reasonable budget. I've been looking at the Visual Sound Route 66 pedal, essentially a Tubescreamer with a Bass Boost and a compressor combined. It even has that original JRC4558 opamp chip that is supposed to be legendary... I don't know myself, as I have no experience with Tubescreamers. I'm pretty much going off of rumours and opinions at the moment, which is not a good thing. smile.gif

I've also heard that overdrive pedals work at their best when driving a tube amp, but do they still sound decent through a solid-state amp or plugged straight into a sound card and the like? If anyone has any experience with this pedal, or has some helpful comments, it would be most appreciated. biggrin.gif

Nah Muris - your English is excellent mate. Just that ass has a double meaning in English - both the 4 legged beast of burden and a backside. Which one Botox meant originally is anyone's guess unsure.gif - only Botox knows for sure smile.gif .

Cheers,
Tony

In my opinion, if you don't have literally thousands of dollars to throw into a rack effect rig, then an analog (when possible) pedal set up is the way to go! Multifx simply suck, for the most part IMO. I had a Visual Sound Jekyll and Hyde OD a while back. It was okay, considering it's supposed to be based off the same chip as the original Tubescreamer, but I felt that for what I paid for it, it should have been better. That, and after I retubed my amp, I found out that I didn't necessarily need an OD. And you're 100% correct, an OD is really only effective with a tube amp. That's not to say you can't use it with a SS amp, but it sort of defeats the whole purpose of an OD.
